Kingdom of Lucis and Niflheim Empire. Two nations that have been at war for centuries. But now, after so much bloodshed, the empire of machinery offered peace to the Kingdom with the last Crystal. King Regis, weary of the war and the Wall he holds over Insomnia, had no other choice but to give Empire what it wants. All lands beyond the Wall will be given to Niflheim and Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum will marry the Oracle, Lady Lunafreya Nox Fleuret of Tenebrae. However, Niflheim holds malicious plans and the Crystal is not their only aim.
She took a deep breath. Her chest rose and fell. She could hear her heart beating lightly underneath her ribcage. Her clean blue eyes lowered, glancing at the simple black dress that barely reached her knees. A small sigh left her lips as she straightened herself up, she looked forward and flipped the locks of her black hair over her left shoulder. Glancing gently at her left then at her right, guards stood formally still before the cars. The woman pushed her shoulders back to straighten her back more, trying to look like a proper staff member.
Kat Caligo tried her best at acting as a proper member of Royal Staff Office, but it was an act she still had to learn. And she wasn't going to give up in becoming one of the best Royal Staff Members. She set her sight onto the top of the stairs towards the entrance of the Royal Palace. A smile crossed her light pink lips as four familiar figures of boys entered her sight, her eyes scanned them in their Crownguard outfits that were made especially for them.
Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum, the son of King Regis Lucis Caelum of Lucis, walked down the stairs with excitement on his face. He was her first real friend and he was her high school classmate once. Prompto Argentum, the most joyful person she managed to meet who always brought smile onto her face. Gladiolus Amicitia, son of Councilmen Clarus Amicitia and bodyguard of the Prince, who taught her how to pack a punch. And Ignis Scientia, Prince's adviser and a strategist, a young man that gave her an advice when she needed it and helped her with her studies in order to become a capable staff member.
The four boys looked at the familiar lady that stood with formal posture, waiting for them with a smile on her face. Her eyes were mainly set on the Prince, whose appearance, for unknown yet obvious reason, made her heart beat a little louder than usual.
"Your Highness!"
To the sound of a voice calling for the young Prince, the four boys came to a stop. Prince looked over his shoulder only to see his father, the King, descending down the stairs with Kingsglaive's Commander; Titus Drautos following closely behind the limping King. The King, with right leg in braces, held firmly onto the cane that helped him walk with a little bit of ease.
"What now?"
The Prince annoyingly whispered to himself, shaking his head to his father's following. He walked back up the second set of stairs to the King who was descending down the first set of stairs that led to Crown Palace. The son went to take his father's arm to ease his struggle but the King raised his hand in gesture to prevent his son from helping him walk when he was still able to do so by himself.
"I fear I have left too much unsaid." The King told his son as he limped forwards to walk by his side down the stairs. "You place a great burden on those who bear with you."
"You're one to talk." Prince playfully replied to his father whose gaze fell onto his son's three companions. "I ask not that you guide my wayward son, nearly that you remain at his side."
"Indeed, your Grace." The royal adviser of the Prince, Ignis Scientia bowed before his King.
"We'll see the Prince to Altissia if it's the last thing we'll see." Gladiolus Amicitia, Prince's bodyguard, spoke to his King with a bow at the end.
