Five days have passed since Noctis had seen Kat. Was he worried? He was dying of worry. He called her dozens of times, but no answer. He sent her countless of messages, but no answer. Prompto did as well. And even Ignis shared the concern but Ignis was firm believer that Kat will return since she was a Necromancer. Nothing can harm a Necromancer; the words of the royal advisor. And Noctis, he hoped those wise words were correct.
Noctis wished to talk to Kat. To tell her everything that had happen in these last few days since she went on her own. Staring from the fact that they were lead to the Archean by Niflheim Chancellor himself, Ardyn Izunia. The pain Archean made him go thought in order for him to receive his blessing. The fact that it was Luna herself that awoke the Titan and ask to aid him. The moment that shocked all of them when Ardyn first introduced himself completely and saved the four of them from the crumbling crater at Disc of Cauthess once the covenant was forge.
He wanted to tell her how much he missed Luna. How he felt his heart quickening each time he looked down at her notebook. He wanted to explain to Kat how grateful he felt towards Luna for awakening Ramuh as well and thank Gentiana for leading him through the trial. Noctis wanted to express how he felt hatred towards Ravus, Luna's brother, who stood in his way and harmed his friend.
So much happen. And what hurt the most was Jared's death. While they were taking back their Regalia, Niflheim came to Lestallum and demanded to know where the Prince is. But they said nothing. And because of him, Jared got killed. Noctis wanted to avenge his death. Jared definitely didn't deserve to die in such a way. Poor Talcott. He was suffering the most at this point.
However, Noctis didn't have time to focus too much on all that worried him. His main concern was to take down the Fort Valluerey, Niflheim stronghold in Cleigne that was preventing them from reaching Caem. Iris was accompanying them to Caem, but for this mission, she had to stay behind in Old Lestallum where she was safe. Noctis, Prompto, Ignis and Gladiolus went forward and made their way towards the watchtower where they could think of a plan.
"So, what's our plan?" Noctis wondered as he stared at the red electric radiation shooting into the sky.
"Find the base commander and take him into custody." The strategist of their group answered. "Targeting metal men will yield little in the way of reconnaissance, but bones bend easily. We'll split into two groups of two." Ignis suggested, observing his friends. "Prompto and Gladio will generate a diversion."
"Aw, yeah!" Prompto satisfyingly nodded. "Making a scene is what I do best."
"What about my part?"
The sound of melodic and playful voice caught their attention in an instant. Their eyes immediately focused at the girl standing the by stairs of the watchtower with gentle smile playing on her pale lips. For a moment, they all needed time to process through their heads that it was Kat Caligo that was standing there. Prompto was first to show enormous grin on his face and skip towards her with eyes filled with happiness.
"Kat!"
Prompto arms wrapped around her tightly. Laughed erupted out of Kat's lips as she hugged him back with same strength. The two pulled away, giving Kat a moment to observe the other three of her friends before her. Gladiolus wore a big grin on his frim expression and clapped his heavy hand onto her shoulder.
"Good to see you back." Gladiolus briefly squeezed her shoulder with proud look in his eyes.
"It's been long..." Ignis spoke with a kind smile. "We've missed the lady of our company."
"Sorry to keep you waiting." Kat smiled towards him before her eyes went on Noctis, who held relief in his eyes and gentle smile on his lips. "Miss me?" She asked him, raising her eyebrows slightly.
