Since today is the last day in year 2016 (and my birthday :D) I wanted to be generous and update this story as well. It is a short chapter since I am mostly focused on 'Breaker of Prophecy' story. So before you start reading I want to wish you a Happy New Year in advance.

Kat stood on the balcony above the peace treaty meeting room. She stared down at a few separate groups of Niflheim diplomats and Lucian politicians. Her blue eyes scanned the entire floor as if she was searching for something suspicious but there was nothing that caught her eyes. Kat could feel her heart beating quicker from the nervousness inside her from how much she wanted this peace treaty to end already.

Her eyes fell onto a group of people approaching from below. King Regis walked forward, his cane hitting the ground as he walked with braces on his right leg. Clarus Amicitia and other Councilman followed closely behind the King. She straighten herself up, her eyes falling onto a guard that approached Clarus and whispered something to him before he walked away. The King, along with the rest of the Councilman disappeared from her line of sigh under the balcony she stood on.

Kat prayed to all the Gods she knew that this peace treaty goes well. She felt presence close to her and soon, in the corner of her eyes she saw a man stepping close to the fence. Kat looked at the man, memorizing his strange features such as strange clothes, red curly hair and fedora on top and black wing as accessory on his left arm. For some reason he truly did seem strange to her, not because of the clothes but because of the air that surrounded him.

"What a lovely day." The man besides her commented as he observed the men on the ground underneath them. "This will set a new record in history." The man commented, while Kat stayed quiet and looked down silently. "What do you think?" Kat raised her head up and looked at the man who was now staring at her with his amber eyes.

"It doesn't matter what I think." Kat answered, looking away.

"Oh..." The man amusingly stared at her. "What about your homeland? Are so willing going to give it to Niflheim?" Kat narrowed her eyes at him strangely.

"Why do you assume I have a homeland outside the Wall?" Kat suspiciously questioned which cause the man to chuckle.

"It has been a long time." Ardyn told her. "But Niflheim never forgets." He looked at her with a grin. "Hecate."

Her blood turned cold underneath her skin. She wanted to run away, but the fear inside her body was keeping her paralyzed where she stood. After what happened, after they attacked them, killed everyone from the cult her mother led, and then attack Galahd where Kat escaped, they were still seeking her out. Kat at the moment didn't know how to respond or how to think.

"Who are you?" Hecate questioned with suspicion in her eyes.

"Oh, how rude of me." Ardyn took of his fedora and placed it on his chest before he bowed before her. "Ardyn Izunia..." He raised his head. "Chancellor of Niflheim." He introduced himself before placing the fedora back on his head.

"You are the one who ordered an attack on us..." Hecate spoke with realization.

"Oh, well..." Ardyn smile with false apologetic expression. "I actually ordered for your cult to be our allies, but...Niflheim had different ideas."

"Allies?" Hecate scoffed at his words. "Why would you had wished for Necromancers to be Niflheim's allies? If you know history, then you know Necromancers lost their homes because of Niflheim."

"I'm well aware." The man nodded. "But it was a mistake that now we all suffer from. Poor souls that needed cleansing now cannot enter the Afterlife because a Necromancer cannot put their soul at ease. "

"You seem awfully worried..." Hecate quietly commented.

"Of course, I'm worried!" Ardyn Izunia exclaimed. "I'm part of this world as well and those damned souls are feeding the daemons."

"Says a man from a nation that controls them." Hecate cleverly said back, making the man smirk at her before he shook his head gently.

"I offer to help you raise as a Necromancer and put souls of this world at ease. Niflheim might come in your way, but I'll try my best at keeping you safe." Ardyn Izunia smiled to her while Hecate suspiciously watched him.

"You would go against your Empire to keep me safe?" Hecate seemed confused by him.

"What it is to come is much larger than the Empire..." Ardyn answered.

"Lady Caligo."

Hecate immediately turned around as she heard someone call out to her using her second identity. In Crownsguard attire stood a man with light blue eyes that held certain seriousness. Hecate recognized this man as the legend. He was known by many names, but only one was always mentioned; Cor the Immortal.

"Cor?" Hecate spoke.

"Come with me." Cor gestured for her to follow him.

Hecate looked back towards Ardyn Izunia, but now where he stood once, there was no one. Expression filled with confusion covered Hecate's face. For a moment she felt strange shiver go down her spine. Cor watched her sternly as he always did, getting slightly impatient as he was waiting for her to move.

"Kat." Cor spoke, his voice stern making Hecate immediately react.

"Yes."

Hecate immediately turned on her heels and walked besides Cor. The two of them silently walked through the halls of the palace and Hecate held her words back from wondering why he needs her. Her mind was still in state of confusion as she tried to figure out who Ardyn Izunia actually is.

Suddenly, sound of explosion was heard outside of the palace, causing a gasp to leave Hecate's lips. Cor's eyes wide for a moment, but he didn't seem surprised by the explosion.

"What is happening?" Hecate asked.

"It's not from the inside...."

But as he spoke, another explosion erupted and this one was from the room where the Crystal rests. Out of the blue, Hecate felt throbbing pain inside her head while the rest of her body suddenly felt as if it was falling apart. Many screams were heard and Hecate's vision before her started to appear black. Cor looked at Hecate as she held onto her head with painful groans exiting her lips.

Hecate's consciousness drifted between the living and the dead. All the souls were in distress. But the souls that caused her this pain; were the souls inside the Crystal; souls of Kings of Lucii.

They are in danger....

With last though inside her head, Hecate fell unconscious. Cor had immediately noticed and with quick reflexes he caught her into his arms. His eyebrows furrowed at Hecate's unconscious body in his hands. But the surprise and shock that appeared in his eyes was because of the sudden change of her skin tone. Her face paled along with the rest of her body. She was as a paper, as if she was dead.

Gasp of fright almost left his lips as Hecate's eyes suddenly wide open. But the eyes she possessed, were not the eyes of a mortal, but the eyes of the dead. They were completely pale with pupil and line around iris barely visible. In his arms, he could feel her paralyzed body becoming cold as if she had died. Her pale dry lips started to move, difficult words exiting them. Cor leaned his ear forwards, trying to hear the words that were coming out of mouth.

Brief look of shock appeared on his expression as the words she spoke were spoken in the language of the dead. Necromancer? Cor stared down at her in shock and disbelief. All this time, you were right before our very eyes.
