Chapter XXXVII - Reunion

Being lost in mega fortress and finding your lost friends, it somehow feels like a miracle. For Noctis at least. He has been wondering through the Keep in hopes of find Kat. But in the end, in a very dangerous situation, his bodyguard and advisor came to his aid. However, his high school friend was not with them.

Now they had four task; find Kat, find Prompto, remove the lock on the Crystal and find the Crystal. For a moment Noctis through everything will go smoothly, but he was so wrong. Noctis hoped Kat would find him through her abilities, but the more he wondered behind these walls, the more he was becoming depressed and hopeless, and dark thoughts of her well-being came drifting in his mind.

"I pray you find your love and your dear friend soon."

"Ugh..." Noctis let a small groan, already overly annoyed by their charismatic enemy that kept on speaking through microphones.

"That guy really gets on my nerves." Gladiolus commented as he walked by Noctis's side through a hallway with Ignis right by them.

"Let's just find Kat and Prompto."

Noctis, Gladiolus and Ignis lead themselves through the labyrinth of hallways by presuming which way they still didn't went through. However, their presuming let them into the room in which Noctis already passed by. It was an enormous round hall with one sealed room in the middle where he saw Emperor's throne inside.

"It's like we're running in circles." Noctis hissed loudly in annoyment.

"Noctis?"

That voice.

Her voice.

Crystal blue eyes looked at the figure of a woman that belonged to no other than a woman who holds his heart. Her blue eyes seemed innocent by the way she looked at him. Happiness bloomed inside of them, mixed with hope. Smile curved itself onto those pink soft lips and small breath of a laugh left her lips. Her feet slowly moved forward and without knowing, even his did.

Step by step, Kat soon found herself in the arms of the King. She wrapped her arms tightly around Noctis and his arms tightly held her close his body, slightly raising her feet from the metal ground underneath them. He felt her scent tickling his nose and entering his lungs.

"You're alive..." Noctis whispered.

Kat pulled herself from her hold to look into his eyes. "Of course." She smiled while Noctis's eyes wondered down to the spot where he saw her being stabbed by Ardyn and his hand gently touched the spot. "It was just illusion." She told Noctis and relief crossed his troubling heart.

Kat smiled at him and looked down at his right hand, seeing the ring adoring his middle finger. She gave him an approving smile and she took his hand, caressing the ring with her thumb, giving relief to Noctis and removing the burden on his shoulders for just a small moment.

"Prompto!" Gladiolus's voice spoke up and caught the attention of Prompto standing behind Kat.

"Prompto..." Noctis repeated his name and looked at his high school friend standing there with a small smile.

"Heya guys, missed me?" Prompto teased to which Gladiolus chuckled.

"Like hell." He walked towards him and clapped his shoulder. "There's no need for me to worry anymore." Gladiolus added and looked towards Kat's, who was still held in Noctis's gentle hold. "Kat, you alright?"

"Yep." Kat answered. "Nothing can break me down." She added, laughing slightly.

"Finally all together." Ignis commented with a pleasant smile. "It feel as if so long has passed." Kat let out a small laugh.
