Annoyed breath exited Kat's lips as she rushed through the labyrinth of hallways in Royal Palace. Her heels clicked hundreds times a second, but she didn't even feel how much her legs were in pain from constant stepping. Her goal was to arrive to the front steps of the palace in order to welcome former Princess of Tenebrae, Lunafreya Nox Fleuret who was not only the Oracle of Eos but at the moment even Noctis's bride-to-be.

As Niflheim arrived to Insomnia, unexpectedly so did she. And under King Regis orders, Kat Caligo was assigned to bring Princess Lunafreya to the throne room where King Regis will be waiting for her. Because of that Kat was on a mission to arrive before the Princess comes to the palace grounds, greet her politely and bring her to the King. Just remembering that she is to be Noctis's Queen made her nervous. She had to make a good impression.

Kat stepped into the light of the sun that shinned over the Palace. Slowly now, Kat stepped down the set of stairs with ease knowing Princess has not yet arrived to the destination. With last step, Kat released a deep breath she had been holding in without realizing. Her heart beat slowed down and she was ready to receive the former Princess. She fixed her hair and dusted her dress to look proper as she should.

Roar of engine entered her ears and she saw the royal car of Insomnia entering the palace ground and going around the roundabout. She straighten herself as the car parked before her and a young man that she was acquainted with exited outside. Nyx Ulric, a hero of Kingsglaive and a boy from Galahd who's hometown was burned down by Niflheim along with his loved ones.

"Kat." Nyx nodded towards her with a smile on his face as he walked to the backseat door before Kat.

"Nyx." Kat greeted back with a same gesture.

The young man, acting as a driver at the moment because of disobeying the direct order from his Commander to retreat on the last mission, took a hold on the door knob. He pulled the doors open, letting a woman of royalty dressed in colors of light blue step outside. The atmosphere changed the same moment when the woman stepped out. Her light blue eyes looked up at the palace that almost reached the sky from her point of view in pure amazement.

Kat examined the beauty before her. Lady Lunafreya Nox Fleuret of Tenebrae was simply beautiful in each and every way. The dress she wore would make most of the girls of royalty jealous. Kat placed a smile onto her lips before she stepped forwards towards the young Oracle.

"Your Highness."

Lunafreya's awed gazed looked towards the young woman before her. The locks of her dark brown hair fell forwards as she bowed deeply to the Princess. She stood up straightly, a gentle smile playing on her lips. Lunafreya started at the woman before her, immediately feeling as if she saw her somewhere before. The woman held herself elegantly, almost as if she belonged to royalty as well.

"Welcome to Insomnia." Kat spoke kindly. "If your allow me, I would like to escort you to His Majesty." Lunafreya smiled at her words.

"Yes, please."

Kat nodded to her before she gestured towards the stairs before them. She turned around while Lady Lunafreya and her bodyguard at this moment, Nyx Ulric followed after her. Kat made sure she didn't show any hint of nervousness. The stairs to the castle were exhausting her a bit but she managed to reach it slowly while Lady Lunafreya followed after her in same pace. Guards bowed before her presence, everyone felt graced to see such beauty enter this castle walls.

The walk towards the throne room was filled with silence and occasional greetings to the Princess. Lunafreya wore a kind smile as she walked forwards behind the woman, whose identity was still unknown to her. She kept on thinking where she must have seen her, and soon, a photo appeared inside her mind. Kat Caligo. She thought inside of her head. Friend of Noctis. A smile appeared on her lips.

"You must be Kat?" Lunafreya broke the silence, causing Kat to slightly look over her shoulder and notice Lunafreya has speed up her pace to walk besides her.

"Uh, yes. Kat Caligo, Your Highness." Kat answered politely.

"Noctis has written me a lot about you." Lunafreya told her, making Kat figure out how Lunafreya knew about her. The notebook...of course. "I am glad Noctis has a friend like you."

"So am I." Kat replied. "Noctis is a good person."

"I am sure he is." Lunafreya gently smiled in her way.

Kat tried her best not to act awkward before the Princess and future Queen of Lucis. Her eyes drifted towards the guards standing before the doorway of the throne room. As she entered their sight, along with the Princess, they took a hold of the door knobs. At the right distance, the two guards pushed the door open, letting Kat enter inside with Lady Lunafreya and Nyx Ulric right behind her. Kat moved to her left side for Lunafreya to take a step closer in the enormous room while Nyx stood on the right side of the Princess in line with Kat.

"Her Royal Highness." Kat announced loudly enough for her voice to reach King Regis who stood by his throne. "Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae."

The King looked towards the entrance of the enormous throne room that was quite far away from his golden throne. Smile spread on King's lips as a beautiful blonde woman stood there. The King took a step forward, looking at a girl he last saw 12 years ago. She had grown into a beautiful lady with the same beauty as her mother.

"It has been a long time, Your Majesty." Lunafreya spoke with a smile that kept on getting bigger from joy of seeing an old friend.

"Yes." King agreed with a gentle smile. "Far too long." He added. "Come forward."

To his words, Lunafreya did as she was told and made her way towards his throne. King sat carefully onto his throne, leaning his cane by it before adjusting his injured leg. Lunafreya climbed the first set of stairs before the throne and looked up towards the King that has grown evidently weary and old since the last time she saw him. Kat and Nyx stood before the stairway in polite matter that was appropriate for their duty they were assigned to.

"Prince Noctis isn't here, is he?" Princess wondered about her future husband.

"No, my dear. He is not." King answered, Princess's shoulder raising and falling in slight disappointment. "I am too old to fight this war. I have no choice but to receive the empire and accept their treaty." He explained to her. "Even so...I had hoped to held the wedding elsewhere, somewhere safe. I sent one of my Glaive to see you there, but..." The King voice trailed off into silence. "It is not too late. I can ready an escort. Please, go to my son." The King pleaded, his voice eager for her to accept what he's telling her.

"No." Lunafreya's voice came out clear, making the King lose hope for a moment in his eyes. "Wherever I go, the empire will follow. It would only place the prince in greater danger. It is my duty to protect the prince and see his destiny fulfilled. These 12 years have not changed that."

"And what of your destiny?" The King wondered.

"My duty is my destiny, Your Majesty." Lunafreya answered. "I'm prepared to accept whatever may come to pass."

Kat narrowed her eyes at the Princess's willpower. She was determined to make sure Noctis fulfills his destiny to become the King. Kat admired that about her. Even after what happened to Tenebrae, after her mother died on the hands of the empire and their land became property of Niflheim, Lunafreya still held herself faithful to Lucis. She was truly something special. Kat lowered her gaze for a moment, thinking through few things before raising her head again with gentle façade to cover her troubled thoughts.
