Ring of the Lucii rested on the palm of her hand. Her blue eyes examined the black ring with golden interior. Her index finger circled the edges while voices of souls entered her mind. She listened to them as the called for the Chosen King and recognized her as the Divine.
Her Ascension had been completed when she called forth the monster from Kingdom of Dead and forced Leviathan into giving Noctis her blessing and what mostly affected her Ascension was her death. Starscourge plague had spread once again through her body, but in the Beyond, Lunafreya departed and gave part of herself to her. Kat received her blessing at that moment and it purified her of the daemon stain inside her body.
"Divine."
Gentle, yet familiar voice called out for her. Kat looked over her shoulder to see a woman dressed in black dress standing a few feet away from her. Her eyes were closed and she wore a serious, yet graceful expression on her pale face.
"Gentiana." Kat spoke with certainty. "Or should I say Shiva."
It was true that Kat could now see through everything. Gentiana was a Messenger of Gods who is used as Shiva's disguise. Blessed with Mark of the Six and with souls of the Beyond, Kat carried the title of Divine Necromancer.
"It is you who has been guiding me." Kat pointed out and Gentiana gave her a gentle nod.
"Blessing of the Oracle has cured the plague inside of your soul." Gentiana pointed out. "It is only matter of time when the Chosen King reclaims his Crystal."
Kat stayed quiet as she approached the bed in which Noctis soundly slept under the warm covers. His body was tired as well as his soul. Kat used her divine presence to heal his soul and return his strength. Her fingers gently opened his hand and she placed the Ring onto his palm.
"Once he reaches the Crystal..." Kat gently closed his hand, her fingers caressing his skin. "It will be my duty to protect the world covered in Darkness?"
"Yes." Gentiana answered. "Until the King returns." Small sigh left Kat's lips.
"What if I'm not ready?" Kat wondered, looking down at Noctis's sleeping form and even though she has proved her power, she still doubted herself.
"You are ready." Gentiana answered with certainty. "If the Gods stand with the King of Light, they shall stand with the Divine Necromancer. The plague in the Beyond can no longer harm your soul. You may make packs with the strongest souls to aid you in your battles."
"Hm..." Kat let out a small sigh. "Packs..." Word played on her tongue as she thought about it before she let out yet another sigh because of her troubled mind.
Gentiana suddenly disappeared from her sigh and the door of the bedroom opened. Gladiolus stood at the doorway with his eyes firstly examining the sleeping king before he looked towards Kat.
"How's he holding up?" Gladiolus wondered.
"He'll be alright." Kat answered. "His souls needs to gather the strength it had lost in the battle." She added. "Ignis?" Gladiolus's eyebrows furrowed in troubled matter.
"Not so good."
Kat lowered her eyebrows before she left Noctis's room along with Gladiolus. They walked down the hallway towards the bedroom where Ignis was. Worry rose within her when they heard shattering and crushing coming from the bedroom. Kat picked up her speed rushed inside, only to see Prompto trying to hold back Ignis from panicking.
"I can't see... I can't see..." Ignis kept on repeating the same words over and over again.
"Ignis, calm down." Prompto worriedly tried to hold him, but Ignis was losing his cool in the darkness that surrounded him.
