With eyes close, small sigh left her lips. Kat had her head leaned against the shoulder of her lover and blankly she stared at the seat opposite from them where Ignis sat. The King and his advisor chatted while Kat was completely out of it.

Something was different in the air. She felt dark, yet familiar but unknown presence on board the train. Not even the souls alone could answer the question that has been bothering her inside her head.

The tension between the five companions finally ceased to exist, and they finally seemed to find their common ground after what happened back in Altissia. But the rest was far from perfect. The more they were making their way to Crystal, the voices in the Ring became louder and being a Divine, it greatly bothered Kat.

Her mind was drifting in her own world of mortal and immortal and she could hardly focused. She wished to walk away from Noctis, to just tell him not to come close to him because the Ring begun to bother her, but she couldn't. Kat wished to be by his side. There was an unseen line that has been connecting them ever since she has completed her Ascension.

Soon, her thoughts were interrupted by the presence of Gladiolus making his way inside the compartment they were at.

"Is someone else there?" Ignis wondered.

"Gladio. He just came back." Noctis answered to his question. "Where did he go anywhere?" Kat curiously glanced at the two as she sat up properly in her seat.

"On a brief reconnaissance." Ignis answered. "Something caught my ear." Kat raised her eyebrows.

"Hey captain, mission complete." Gladio said as he reached them.

"Splendid."

"So what "caught your ear"?" Noctis wondered, sharing the same curiosity as Kat.

"Rumors of longer nights." Ignis answered.

"They've been growing longer, day by day." Gladiolus added.

"There was talk of it back in Lucis, but recent days have shown an unseasonably sharp change." Ignis told them, earning a small sigh from Kat.

"The death of Lady Lunafreya is causing this." Kat told them, their attention falling onto her. "Her own existence was keeping the nights at bay, but as her light disappeared, the darkness has begun to rise. The only light that is keeping this one, it's the King's." Noctis moved slightly away from her, his eyes narrowed.

"And you're telling me this now?" He questioned, angered by the knowledge he should have already known.

Kat looked at him, her eyebrows lowering. "I thought you knew."

"I would have if you had told me." Kat let out a small sigh, trying to find a reply.

But then something caused her time to change. Something stopped time around her and she felt it immediately. Her eyes followed the presence of something dark, causing her to look over her shoulder and behind the seat at the closed door that lead to another compartment. Something dark was hidden there...something that made her skin crawl.

"Kat?"

Time begun once again and she was barely aware of it. Two of her companions looked at her strangely, while the third one just curiously in silence wondered why there was silence from the young Necromancer.

"What?" Kat wondered, glancing at the three of them.

"You suddenly just dozed off." Noctis commented and Kat let out a small chuckle to cover the sudden creepiness inside her soul.
