It is painful to see the entire coast in numerous ruins. One part of south Cleigne region, the one behind Rock of Ravatogh was covered in numerous abandoned ruins. Ruins that Great Divine Astrid Lumen used to shelter her followers that survived the fall of Sanctus, Necromancer's Royal city. The surviving heir of Lumen's bloodline, Princess Astrid led those who decided to follow her in order to raise stronger and defeat Niflheim. Revenge...That was their goal from the very beginning.
Kat was always aware of the hatred her mother held towards Niflheim. They did destroy everything Lumen bloodline stood for, they went against the importance of a Necromancer in this world. Astrid wished to grow strong, form bonds with many strong souls to destroy Niflheim, but she was never strong enough to reach those souls that were slumbering inside the Kingdom of Dead.
The sun was slowly falling and Kat decided to make this exploration quick before the night sets in and daemons find her. Kat lightly hit the Chocobo with the back of her ankles and the animal walked down the hill towards the ruins by the water. Her blue eyes observed her surroundings and she managed to feel strange aura surrounding the area. The dark side of Eos... where souls know no rest...
Once she reached the fallen building, Kat got off her Chocobo and told it to await her by the entrance. Through the crumbled entrance, Kat squeezed through with small difficulty and set foot into hall that lead down the stairs into the darkness. Shiver of fear when down her spine and the only light to be her guide through the darkness was the flashlight on her jacket.
The walls were old and they were threatening to fall. Kat found herself feeling cold shivers running down her back and definitely fear in her heart. In her ears, she could hear the loud and long beats of her heart with each step she took. It was just like she remembered when she was only a few years old. Even through everything had crumbled now, she could still remember how it used to be.
Her footsteps echoed through the lonely hallways and her hair slightly danced on her shoulders as a small breeze swung through the ruins. Small drops of water could be heard further ahead and it gave Kat a clue that these ruins were leading her down the building that was underwater. The water had risen in the past fifteen years and caused the building to go underwater, but the structure of this building was strong and hard to break down.
The long sloping path came to an end and Kat found herself completely surrounded by darkness with only the flashlight as her guide. She felt her bones slightly shaking with fear of not knowing what to expect if she takes another step. Kat took a deep breath and took another step, but with that step she felt as if she started imagining something. Kat blinked a few times and the area around her started changing.
The darkness was taken away and replaced with light. The walls were preserved with various paintings. Kat blue eyes observed her surroundings. She looked up towards the ceiling to see a painting of a Necromancer surrounded by Warriors and Astrals in its background. Kat furrowed her eyebrows at the image, hinting on something but she couldn't quite figure out what it could be.
"Divine is giving birth!"
Kat gasped, looking around her to notice entire hall covered in sea of souls, people in their forms but see through ones. Kat could recognize most of those souls that were present. She noticed their anticipation, awaiting the birth. Her birth.
"Our hope will be born!"
"The hope will bring an end to Niflheim."
Kat listened to their words, her eyes examining the entire hall until she followed the direction their eyes kept on glancing. And she followed it. Through a long hallway covered with souls. Screams of her mother entered her ears and Kat rushed through the hallway, soon finding herself in a room with blood on the floor and three women surround the woman in pain. Kat circled the bed whose white sheets were strained by blood.
