With their weapons active once again, the five of them made their way to find the Crystal. However, the road to the Crystal was not easy, and it was nothing surprising to them. Prompto's code helped them through all the locked doors, but behind each locked door there lied an enemy.
They fought Foras, Daemon form of once known Emperor Aldercapt. Kat saw the way his mind was deranged and poisoned from the Crystal, as well as Ardyn's influence. She wished to hear his thoughts, but all the voices that came from the Crystal begun to disturb her mind and her thoughts.
The further they walked the more Kat's felt her mind becoming tired from the voices she couldn't block out. The Crystal was calling for Noctis, it was awaiting him to come to it. And all those voices of the past Kings, talking all at once, made pain pulse through her brain.
Her behavior certainly didn't go unnoticed by any one of them. Not even the paling of her face. Her eyes kept on wondering around as if she's looking for something. She seemed lost in her own dimension, but tried not to show it.
The moment they entered an elevator that will lead them to the hanger, Noctis faced her with worry in his eyes.
"Kat..." He called out her name and she looked at him, smiling to hide away the absence. "Are you okay?"
"Mmm?" She raised her eyebrows. "Of course I am."
Noctis didn't buy her answer at all. "Kat." His voice came out stern and made her sigh.
"It's because of the Crystal." She answered. "The more closer we go to it, the voices inside the Crystal are becoming louder and they are all I can hear inside my head."
"Can't you just turn them off?" Noctis wondered.
"If I was just a Necromancer, I could easy shut the other world, but I'm a Divine, I cannot ignore." Exhausting sigh left her lips. "The Crystal is calling for you, Noctis. It's waiting for you."
"Then let's not make it wait any longer." Noctis smiled.
Kat forced her lips to smile, but there was no denying there was sadness in her eyes. Without warning, she reached out and wrapped her arms around him. Noctis's wore a surprised look on his face by her sudden affection, but it her didn't deny it. His hands wrapped around her and he gently caressed the middle of her back. Something off about her behavior, and even the other boys have noticed.
However, no one dared to question why she seemed so sad when they were so close to their goal. Noctis believed that the voices of the Crystal were making her feel vulnerable. And he wasn't far from the truth.
As the door of the elevator opened, Kat pulled away from Noctis. He gave her strong smile, massaging her arms in support. She returned a brief smile and looked away, stepping out of his hold and exiting the elevator with the rest. Small sigh left Noctis's lips and he followed after them.
"One hell of a hanger." Gladiolus commented as he observed his surroundings that were covered in magitek weapons on the long ground belong them.
"So, the center elevator is through here." Noctis said as he led them up the stairs and looked across the hanger at the gate that hide the elevator they needed.
"And out of the loading bay." Gladiolus added.
"Your Majesty, your precious Crystal awaits." After his long absence of just watching them, Ardyn finally spoke up through the microphone.
Gate behind them begun to open and one by one they turned only see a daemon in a deformed shape of a man approaching them. But something about him told them who he might be.
