Through the dark dimension of flowing around, Hecate finally felt her feet touch a solid ground. She looked down to see dark dress flowing as if she was submerged, but she didn't feel light. Hecate felt so much pressure, so much torment within the dimension she found herself standing.

The place was dark and she couldn't really see through the darkness that was set before her. Hecate presumed she was in the Cage where Ardyn's soul was kept and awaiting peace. The heavy darkness filled with so much negative energy told her that essences of daemons dwelled here but yet she was blind to everything around her.

Hecate's eyes wide when she felt something being placed on her shoulders; and even though her dress was long sleeves and her shoulders were covered, she felt the coldness of that touch. Hecate turned around to face what was that that stood behind her and to her expected surprise, Ardyn stood behind her with his charismatic half smile.

"Ardyn." Hecate breathed out to replace the fact she wanted to gasp.

Ardyn's hands that touched her raised in the air in defense. "Did I scared Death? It was not my intention." Hecate took a step back to get her personal space back.

"This is the Cage?" Hecate wondered, glancing briefly at the darkness she had nothing to see.

"Yes..." Ardyn answered, looking at the same view. "This is where the root of the Darkness is. It has been living here with me from the day I was demonized by my beloved brother and one true love." Ardyn dramatized, chuckling to himself.

Hecate let out a small sigh as she watched him and seeing his tired and tormented soul. "And if I destroy this Cage, if I destroy you, Starscourge will never torment Eos?"

"Destroy the Root and malicious darkness will be no more." Ardyn told her. "The Chosen King has destroy my body, but my soul is immortal and only a Divine, Chosen by the Gods and Kings, can forevermore destroy this curse." Ardyn chuckled slightly. "Or if you don't I will just slip out just like the last time."

"Didn't Styx Lumen do that 2000 years ago?" Hecate wondered and at the mention of that name of his 'one true love' Ardyn's eyes glitter briefly with hurt.

"Styx was a woman with short-temper." Ardyn answered, sighing slightly. "And she was woman who wanted the title of Divine more than anything. I helped her, she was not happy the way I helped her and when I was demonized, she wanted me, the only Daemon at that time, to forever rot all alone here." Ardyn said in one breath, sighing at the end. "And for 2000 years I have waited for this moment." Ardyn stepped closer, invading Hecate's personal space once more. "I want you to release me from this Cage and give me peace." Ardyn's hands took a hold of Hecate's, making her look down with small gasp leaving her lips.

"What makes you think you will be at peace once I release you and destroy the root?" Hecate wondered, looking down at their hands for a long time before she finally looked up at Ardyn.

"I've have done everything to make sure this day will come. Peace or no peace, all I know I want to be purified." Ardyn told her and Hecate nodded.

"But I just want to know..."

Her past came crushing within her head. She wanted to know the reason of her death when she was born, she wanted to know what she had a daemon stain on her soul, and she wanted to know why she was chosen to bring peace to Ardyn and not her mother. There so much she wanted to know, and yet the souls couldn't answer those questions. And she was well aware that Ardyn was a Daemon that destroyed Necromancers, the one who infected them and caused Madness.
