With sore body, Noctis came awake. His eyes opened to the blinding light shining through the window of unfamiliar room. He found himself staring at the ceiling with small groans of soreness leaving his body. The sight before his eyes was a bit blurry and he felt like his body went through constant beating. His arms pushed him into sitting position and for a moment, he did not know where he was.
"Back with us?"
His eyes cleared and he looked at the man who was by his side since young age. Ignis pushed himself of the red sofa her was sitting in and, slowly, with hesitation he looked towards the direction where the Prince might be.
"I'll tell the others..."Ignis informed the young Prince who tiredly looked down at his closed hand, feeling something in it. "Thought it may take a bit."
Curiously with hint of confusion, Noctis looked back at his advisor. Gasp left his lips and for a moment, his lungs did not function. There were small scars all around Ignis's eyes, but only one looked critical. It was the scar around his left eyes and seemed like his skin was tore of its place. To hide his hideous injury, Ignis wore dark shaded glasses and prevented Noctis from seeing how bad it really is.
"You're hurt..." Noctis's voice came our rawer than he thought it would.
"A small sacrifice in the greater battle." Ignis answered.
Memories of that day came floating inside Noctis's head and he remembered everything. The tension he was thrown in. He remember Leviathan defeating him and then he saw Ardyn stabbing Luna and he was unable to do anything to prevent such a thing from happening; he didn't even saw it coming. Lunafreya called forth the powers of the Kings and thanks to her and those powers, he was able to fight the Leviathan once again.
He remember, bit by bit, how his body was becoming exhausted from wielding such powers. But somehow, he managed to fight Leviathan until the very end. Then all his memories went black. The only memory he had of Luna after that, what he believes is a dream, was when she walked away from him and towards Kat who took her away.
"And Luna?" Noctis wondered and moment of silence followed.
"She has passed." Pain went through Noctis's heart. I failed her... "As I heard, Kat forced Leviathan into giving you her blessing, by summoning a beast from Kingdom of Dead. The three of you were submerged by Hydraean's anger. Lunafreya's body, however, was not found..."
Noctis closed his eyes tightly, holding back the tears that were building inside himself. I failed her...His voice started to repeat itself inside his head and he opened the hand, for unknown reason, he kept closed. He gasped at the sight of the Ring inside his hand and he realized that the dream he had with her was real. Kat took her away?
"Umbra left that for you."
Ignis pointed towards the direction he could hear Noctis's shaking breathe. Noctis looked his way and stared at he turned around and left him alone. His eyes then feel onto the red notebook that served as a way from Lunafreya and him to communicate. Immediately, Noctis started to flip the pages, through all the stickers and photos they have exchanged. His heart sunk when he flipped the last page and he saw a Sylleblossom pressed on the page.
He gripped the Ring in his head, wanting to yell at everything and everyone. Tears soaked his cheeks and fell onto his naked arms. His heart was in pain and broken. He felt the weight of the world crushing against his shoulder and pushing him down to the ground. I can't do this... I can't do this anymore... This tragedy was too much of him to take. He lost his father, his Kingdom, the Crystal, now Luna for one stupid Ring.
