Chapter 22

General Sho'Gu

General Chang Sho'Gu of the Roda-Ki stopped by the Roda-Ki temple for his monthly random inspection. The Colonel Max Headron of the compound greeted the General with all the pomp and circumstance that was due the station of the general of his rank, which meant a lot since he was a three star general in the Roda-Ki service.

The Colonel walked a step behind the General as was proper for a man of his position. The Generals graying black hair was more gray than black, but was well kept. Since he was a few ranks above the Colonel he was to walk a step in front the Colonel. They exchanged pleasantries and walked through corridors of the secret Roda-Ki temple.

"General would you like to lead the student in meditation?" The balding colonel asked as a treat for the students to have such a great officer lead them in the meditation of the Roda-Ki. The Colonel had to physically look up to the General. An advantage the General used to his benefit with all his lower ranked officers.

'Attention!" The General backed the command and expected it to be obeyed.

The thirty six students jumped to attention as though they had had a red hot poker shoved up their rectum. They were all straight and at perfect attention, not a single one of them was out of order.

The General walk gradually about the group looking for signs of weakness, but he found none these students were well disciplined in the art of the Roda-Ki. The General spied out faults in their uniforms, but found none. He noticed everything about the youths and young men and women before him and they were perfection.

"You have done well Colonel." The General offered a compliment.

"I haven't seen such dedication in my entire fifty-two years of service. Your marokes are very disciplined. But they must remember to stand at attention when a senior officer enters the chamber."

The General turned to the students. "Continue your meditation."

All the student sat back down and began to meditate once again.

"We will work on that general." The Colonel said wondering who he was going to flog for this major debacle. Lieutenant Dunbar would get the flogging after that it was up to him who got beat for the mess that occurred.

"Do any of them have the gift of precognition?" The General ask hopefully.

"I'm sorry general but no." The Colonel answered. "We are working on a plan to retrieve Stephanous Dragonsbane to our facility. He is said to have the precognition ability."

"Isn't he in the Dou-Jin facility!" The General growled.

"For now sir." The Colonel answered. "We should have him by month's end if all goes according to plan. We have our best Roda-Ki on the assignment. Brady Tunage, he has had many successful assignments for us in the past."

"Good!" The General said with a bit of dismay. "I wouldn't count it done until the boy is in a cell in our dungeons. Am I understood? Failure isn't an option!"

The Colonel led the General to the Roda-Ki training ground. They fought with real demon weapons as the weapons wouldn't hurt anyone who was truly evil and it picked out any spies in their midst.

"Bring out your bet warrior in the art of Roda-Ki." The General commanded. "I will see how battle ready your troops are. If they can withstand an attack by me then they are truly ready for the Dou-Jin, I have killed fourteen seasoned Dou-Jin myself." The general boasted. When in reality he had managed to only kill four. He had padded the number severally to make himself appear grander than he actually was and it was a much greater number than any other Roda-Ki he had ever heard of in the past.
