"I'm Holiday Chase your Head Mistress." She started in a soothing voice. "I welcome you to the Guild of the Dallas Dragons. For the next ten months you will be going to school then you'll get a two month holiday, but you'll still be living here."
"As many of you have come from all over the world we can't send you home for any holiday breaks. All your holidays will be spent here. The Dallas Dragons are now your family and friends. You are all brothers and sisters."
"We have exterior school expeditions competitions, but only for those of seventh years and higher. Any year lower will have inner school competitions for your amusement and skill direction. We have football and volleyball in the fall, basketball in the winter, baseball, softball, and Olympics in the spring. During the two months of summer break is free time to do as you will."
"Spiritblades are only to be used by ninth grade and above. Anyone caught attempting to use a spiritblade will earn demerits for the Guild. Spiritblades are not toys and must be used with the utmost of care."
"Now our Guild can earn merits for good school work and good athletic performances and expeditions and it can lose merit for bad school conduct. We don't punish students for failing grades if they are truly trying hard, but if they are intentionally being lazy and slothful they will earn demerits."
"Now for you first years get yourself acquainted with your surroundings. There's a lot to take in and you probably won't be able to get it all in for the night."
Around each fireplace were overstuff chairs to sit in and relax or read. Throughout the room were dozens of lengthy tables to do homework or converse at. There were also couches and overstuffed chair throughout the dorm.
Chandeliers hung from the thirty foot high ceiling. Each had mystical candles that burned with the light for the time of day. During the day light from the windows let in plenty of light, but at night until 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM the candles would be out except for a few that would burn to let student go to the restrooms.
At the twenty foot level was another tier that held a large library for students to use and if the student couldn't find what they were looking for in the dorm the temples main library contained even more books to browse through.
The students milled around for about an hour and then the Head Mistress stepped out onto the balcony again. "It's time for you to head to your rooms. First years you are at the very top of the tower the rest of you know where you belong. You will all have your things waiting for you in your rooms as the squints have delivered them already. Oh and if you came with nothing there will be things for you in your dressers and wardrobes. Have a good night to all of you. Enjoy your weekend before school."
With that the head mistress vanished into her chambers.
The rest of the students divided into boys and girls behind the Lead Boy and Lead Girl that lead the children to the bed chambers. They snaked around in a spiral once every full spiral a group of six students would walk through a door that had a sign above the door save wall grade the bedroom was, i.e. the first door said seniors and the very top floor said first grade.
"This will be the only time that I show you to your bed chambers." Ricky informed the group with a smug tone in his voice. "From now on you'll find your own way. May The Spirit protect you all." And then he left.
Clifton picked a bed but was shoved out of the way by Lassitor who took the bed for himself. Lassitor really didn't want the bed, but he was being a jerk and a bully and force Clifton out of the way.
Stephanous went over and picked Lassitor up and threw him off the bed so Clifton could have the bed. "Here Clifton you picked this bed first." Stephanous told him.
"No that's okay I'll take another bed, but thanks anyway Steph." Clifton said diffidently.
"Why are you such a jerk?" Stephanous turned on Lassitor.
"Why do you have to be everyone's savior?" Lassitor spat back.
"I wouldn't have to if you weren't pushing everyone around." Stephanous growled.
"Nobody asked for your help." Lassitor glared back from across the room hoping Stephanous didn't close the distance.
"How were you ever picked to become Dou-Jin?" Isaian asked.
"You're a horrible person." Brayothan said.
"I have great potential according to our prophets." Lassitor said defensively. "I was the only one for hundreds of mile that passed the tests."
"You don't have to be so arrogant about it." Said Isaian with annoyance on his tongue.
"Dou-Jin are humble people. You've been nothing close to humble." Brayothan said in irritation.
Everyone picked a bed finally and Lassitor only glared at Stephanous for throwing him across the room. Lassitor wasn't use to people standing up to him and Stephanous wasn't one to be messed with, so Lassitor would have to make sure Stephanous wasn't around when he bullied people.
