Chapter 42
Too Many Ogrilars
The party went a week without seeing any trouble but then came the day when they were nearly ran over by trouble, trouble in the form of a legion of ogrilars. That meant ten centuries of ogrilars, which meant ten omendarous, and if there were ten omendarous there was one dread knight.
The structure went one hundred ogrilar one omendarous. Ten omendarous One dread knight, ten dread knights, one overlord, ten overlords, one minor demon, ten minor demon, one major demon, ten major demons, one named demon, twenty named demons, and then you have Luciferous. Actually the number of demon is unknown but it's thought to be in the trillions. However to get Luciferous involved you would need to break the eighteen seals.
The group hid in a nearby cave where they sat for days waiting for the massive army to move across the Bremmington wastelands. The party had to set snares for food out at night and their water bags out to catch any water from the irrigation system of the scholar widgets. They were about the only respectable widgets that anyone could depend upon.
Any ogrilars that happened to come to close to the cave were disposed of quickly and buried in the back of the cave. Luckily ogrilars were lazy and never came out looking for any of them that didn't come back.
The group waited a week there before the ogrilar finally moved on. When the group left they left a lot of trash and body parts behind. They must have had humans to eat and human kind as they had legs, arms, finger joints and skulls of people. They thought that they should have done something to help them, but what could they have done. The ogrilar might have been lazy, but they would have got off their dead butts to go out and looked for their food that had tried to escape. So the party just stayed hidden and accepted the consequences of their actions.
Michale had to hold them together when they seen what had happened when they hadn't rescued any of the slaves, but he told them with so many ogrilar, omendarous, and a dread knight they would have been captured as well and their fruit would have been for nothing. It didn't make them feel any better, but it did make sense.
Michale gave lessons on how the demonic power structure went and that gave Stephanous an idea. Admittedly it wasn't the best idea but it was an idea. The first night Stephanous went out in the direction the ogrilar army had gone. No one knew where he went he had cloaked his mind from Michale and the others and he had snuck away.
Within a day he had caught up to the large army. That night he sneaked around quietly and slew over one hundred ogrilar and two omendarous. He left long before the sun came up and he left no trace of him being there. The ogrilar camp was like a kicked ant hill. Creatures were all moving around like beheaded chickens.
No one ever knew that he was there. The next night the guard had been double but Stephanous had sneaked past the guards again and had kill another hundred ogrilar and three omendarous this time. Now two hundred ogrilar had been slain and half their population of omendarous had been wiped out.
The third night Stephanous held back and made no move on the camp as everyone in the camp was wide awake, but the next night the ogrilars got lazy and sloppy. Stephanous didn't bother with the ogrilar or the omendarous; he went for the top brass. He sneaked into the dread knight tent and found that the knight was waiting for him.
"I can't believe this child is the one that killed so many of my men and women." The Dread Knight said in disbelief. "I will dispatch you myself without calling the guards to help. You are too young to be full Dou-Jin."
The dread knight withdrew his dead black sword it had been made out of the carbomite ore from the vilest mountain in all of Do'Azuzen. Mount Shashtaza. The ore in that mountain was said to come from the pile of hell itself. It was called Pit Metal, or Deep Ore, or Devil Curse. Anyone even scratched by that metal would have to cut off that part of their body or die within hours of being cut. The only being immune to the ore was the holy five, arch angels, and angels.
