Chapter 19

The Final Nightmare

It was a warm summer night in the field behind Stephanous's farm house. The wheat had been harvested and he lay upon a blanket in the grass gazing at the stars. Billions and billions of assorted sizes and colors twinkled in the night sky.

"So this is where they have you hiding." Came an all too familiar voice.

Stephanous sat upright quickly and glanced around but he saw no one. He was sure he had heard Lilith's voice though.

"You heard me little one." Lilith bated. "You'll be mine soon enough. The Dou-Jin can't hide you from me forever. Oh and to let you in on a little secret I'm this close to breaking the first seal."

"You can't be in my dream!" Stephanous yelled defiantly. "I'm protected by the Spirit!"

"You are such a strong little boy aren't you?" She teased knowing that she was rattling the young man's nerves. "I have Gadreel and Thammuz coming to get you in your dream as we speak. I would come and get you myself, but this is servants work and I don't want to bother myself with it."

"However I will be the one that is going to turn you to the ways of the Roda-Ki or torture you until you're dead."

"You'll never turn me you botch!" Stephanous Growl standing up with a spiritblade in his hand. "Any of your servants come near me and I will cut them down quicker that a scythe cuts wheat! I have the Spirit in me and there's no way the Spirit will let you touch me or take me away from the Dou-Jin."

"Hmmm... Such language and from a Dou-Jin apprentice." Lilith mocked Stephanous's insolence. "I'll teach you respect and have manners to those who are your superiors. All demons and devils are your superiors and you will bow before them with their due respect. I am the second most powerful devil and I am only second to my husband Luciferous. You would do well to remember that little man!"

"I could but blink my eyes and you'd be one the ground in sheer and utter pain wishing that I had killed you, but I would kill you. No I'd have too much fun turning you to the ways of the Roda-Ki. You say you would never turn, but you don't know the pains that I would put you through no man would last through the agony I would put them through and you're just a boy. Turning you would be like turning a baby.

Stephanous was standing and he noticed that he was in ivory colored armor and had an ivory sword that was glowing and burning a brilliant white.

Two figures walked into the moonlight of the field. One appeared as a giant slug with the face of a man and his mouth took up his entire belly. He smiled a mouth filled with three rows of giant jagged teeth on his upper and lower mouth that appeared as though they had never been brush his entire life. He was grey in coloring and even though his face took up half of his body he held a huge pike with a single edged sword blade on the end.

He whirled the blade with expertise and swiftness and Stephanous thought he would never be able to match the demon or devil or whatever it was deftness in a fair fight. It completed its turn and Stephanous stared at the second creature.

The beast looked much like a shader except that it had six arms and each hand had a sword in it. Each hand had six inch long spiraling fingernails that were lacquered that didn't even seem to bother the demon in wielding the blades he possessed. It spun and whirled the blades in such a fashion that the cutting edges never touched the other and how he managed to do that Stephanous had no idea.

The man had two long horns jutting out the front of his forehead and his skin was a deep blood red. His eyes were an eerie glowing yellow and his irises were black and midnight with white pupils. He had a black spear shaped goatee that looked oiled. His spider body wasn't one of a black widow though it was that of a brown recluse. Two sets of fang pressed against his lips one set pressed the upper lips and one set press the lower lips and when he open his mouth the rest of his teeth appeared as though they were filed into jagged points.
