The Ones Who Love Him More

Third Person POV

An emotional high, that’s what it was. Ecstasy and euphoria pumped through his blood causing his heart to beat faster than was possible for his species. Adonis could hear and feel the blood rushing through his veins – heck he could even see it. His eyes saw everything – every dust particles they used to missed. Just to test his theory, Adonis looked down and saw the tiniest of insect carrying on with their daily lives. Nothing escaped his vision anymore. He could see the world more clearly in vibrant shapes and colors. He looked through the windshield of his car and toward the forest. He was able to see a bird feeding her young in a nest. His hearing was just as perfect. He felt like every sound in the world were screaming in his ears, and it hurt like hell. If he closed his eyes and concentrate hard enough, he could separate the sound of a car honking from miles away to the bugs crawling deep underneath the earth, the waves in the ocean, and the heart beats of his brothers.

 In fact, all his five senses were heightened to an abnormal level. From one touch, Adonis could destroy anything because of his inability to control his strength.

He felt helpless because there was nothing he could do to explain what was happening to him or stop it. His only option was to wait for Cy and Hel, and hope they get there in time to save him from dying. Adonis was certain he would die soon; his system needed to calm down but from the looks of it, that aspect of his body was disabled so he was running on a continuous high.

He rested his head on the car seat while he breathed sporadically. He tried not to touch anything because there was no question they would be destroyed. All he could do was sit there and wait.

Cyan and Helios used their inhuman speed, hurrying up to reach Adonis’ location, wondering what was going on with him. Helios frowned, thinking to himself that this was not the first time they had to rush to Adonis aid. He had a sick suspicious that Osiris might have something to do with this. It seemed bad things always happen to Adonis when he was involved.

Don’t get him wrong, he didn't dislike Osiris, in fact he was happy Adonis found someone like him, but their relationship was not normal. There always seemed to be something dramatic going on with them. Adonis was always on an emotional rollercoaster based on something Osiris did.

What did he do this time? Helios thought to himself.

“Do you feel that?” Helios snapped from his thoughts and turn toward Cyan who was frowning deeply as they rushed to Adonis.

“What?” He inquired.

“I don’t know. I feel empty all of a sudden, like something vital has been stripped away from me.” Before Helios could response to Cyan explanation, his brother faltered, holding his chest like he was in pain. Stopping along with Cyan, Helios watched him breathe in and out as he did his best to catch his breath.

“I feel like I just ran a marathon.”

Helios frowned deeply, “You shouldn't feel like that even if you did run a marathon. What’s going on with you?” He was getting worried. First it was Adonis and now Cyan?

“I don’t know but it feels cold, lonely and dark.” This time when Cyan spoke his voice was barely above a whispered as he stared off into space. Panicking, Helios shook his brother’s shoulder, feeling relieve when he got his attention.

“Do you need to sit down? Can you wait here while I get Adonis? I will tell the betas to come-”

“No, I will come with you,” Cyan refused, taking the lead before Helios could protest. Hel sighed, knowing he would never be able to convince Cyan otherwise. He watched his silent brother while they ran toward Adonis. Something is seriously wrong with him, Helios thought, brows knitting when Cyan continued to rub his chest like he was trying to contain the emptiness he mentioned.
