Chapter Two: Two Sides to Every Story

I really like this chapter because it finally closed up the first few chapters of volume one. This chapter is for everyone to learn the truth and understand Helios a little.

Helios POV

“Where are we going?” Zion asked me, his voice sounding irritated now. I clenched my teeth and plastered a smile on my face even though he couldn’t see it. His eyes were blindfolded because I had a surprised for him but he was ruining it with his constant complains.

“Patience, we are almost there.” I stopped the car and helped him out of it.

“Have you talked to Cyan like I told you?” He asked while I navigated his body through the forest.

He sniffed around and stopped; “why are we in the forest? Are you really playing games when you should be finding out what Cyan’s up to?” He pulled away from me, ripped the blindfold off his face and crossed his arms. Well there goes my surprised not that he was even noticing it.

Clenching my hands behind my back, I breathed in. “Look Zio, Cyan can handle himself. Whatever he’s doing is his own business. When he’s ready he will-”

“I ask you to do one thing, but you can’t. I thought you three were bond brothers, but now you don’t want to know what he’s up to?”

“Honestly, I don’t think it’s any of your business or mine for that matter. We might have a bond but we have our own lives.”

“You don’t think it’s any of my business? He’s my best friend.” He snarled lividly. I studied him for a while and walked away, going to the small picnic I set up. Our relationship has hit rock bottom and no matter how hard I tried, he found something to complain about.

It took me a while, but I finally figure him out. You can blame my idiocy for not noticing but I honestly don’t care anymore. I may not be good at studying, but I am not stupid or foolish. Zion is not that complex once you figure it out; he’s predictable and cowardice.

Right now, I was sitting on the ground with the picnic basket my mother helped me prepared. He came to sit by me, never acknowledging my effort or my attempts to be romantic because he was too busy complaining about Cyan and my lack of listening skills. I put a cheese in my mouth, tune him out and lie down on the forest floor thinking about everything that happened between me and Zion up to this point.

I was probably ten when I started having feeling for him but it scared me for many reasons. The first reason was because I knew Zion hated me. He used to call me Adonis stupid friend and for some reason his words hurt so I did my best to avoid him like the plague.

Eventually I grew to have a love and hate relationship with him. I hated how much he cared about Adonis, and how much Ai opinion matter to him. He hides it by complaining all the time but Zion loves Adonis, no in fact he worships him. Ai turned out to be everything Zion wanted. He had the looks – the red hair and eyes that made him the alpha – the height, power and he was born in the right time. I also knew how much it hurt Zion that Adonis didn’t think much of him. Since he couldn’t be Adonis or have a relationship with him, he chose to pretend nothing was wrong. I hated him for hiding instead of coming out and telling his brother how he felt.

Another reason for my dislike of Zion was his closeness to Cyan. Cy and Adonis were mine, my best friends and bond brothers and although I did not mind Zion being friends with Cy, I hated how he monopolized Cyan’s attention. Maybe because I was being bitter, but I felt Zion was only interested in Cyan to get Adonis’ attention although it did not result in the way he wanted.

Still through my disliked, I started to develop strong feelings for him. At the time I thought he would never accept me so I joined Adonis and slept with anything that remotely looked like female. Together we ruled the school and annoyed Cyan to death but I still couldn’t get Zion out of my mind.
