Cyan POV

He hates me! He hates me! He hates me! Why did I keep Arion a secret? Why didn’t I tell someone about him? If things were different, if Osiris and Arion had met under normal, less substantial circumstances, would the result have been different? No matter how I think about it, I could not figure out why I kept Arion a secret. Adonis hates me. Why wouldn’t he? It was my fault he lost Osiris, and now we had no way of getting him back.

After the event of Osiris’ ascension, our fathers were furious with me and demanded why I never told them about Arion. In their eyes, I stomped on their authority and endangered the town. Regardless of whether Arion was a danger or not, I still should have told them, so they could at least prepare if something happened. After discovering that same sex mating has been happening amongst the three packs for years, the alphas decided they did not want any more surprises. They took it upon themselves to be more aware of what was happening in the town, and I disregarded that.

When Adonis and everyone left the site, only Arion, Helios and I stayed behind. Helios gazed at the waterfall that swallowed Osiris for a long time without saying anything to me. After waiting to see what he would say, he turned and sighed heavily. “You should have told us,” was all he said and left with his shoulders hunched over.

Watching his retreating form had cold sweat dripping down my neck. I just couldn’t return to my pack mansion or anywhere for that matter. Call me cowardice if you will, but I could not bear to see the disappointed or pitiful look on their faces. Without uttering a word, Arion and I returned back to the house I bought. He sat off to the side and left me alone while I drowned in my guilt and shame.

The house that once upon a time felt like home to me was making me uncomfortable. Maybe it was because I bought a house secretly, without notifying the alphas about it.  I did not take into consideration that it was their money paying for the house. We were wealthy, tremendously wealthy, but because our mothers came from outside of Icarus Falls and lived mediocre lives, they made sure we were not spoil. Although I could buy anything I wanted, I had to at least ask my parents first. It was the respectful thing to do, so the house I bought without their consent was starting to suffocate me.

“Cyan!” I gasped surprised to see Arion standing in front of me.

“What?” I asked tiredly.

“You were…Never mind. Want to talk about it?” He asked, trying to mask his worry but I could see it plainly. He was remarkably patient; he gave me space for hours, and looking at the time, I realized it was two o’clock in the afternoon.

Gazing at Arion, I marveled at his appearance. His once midnight black hair was now brownish red and his dark eyes had a different color to what I was used to. I guess this was his typical appearance, and his dark half was the cause of his first exterior. “No,” I answered him, realizing that he was still waiting for my answer.

“Well, we are still going to talk about it. You did not realize but you were hyperventilating for a second there. Talking could help,” he pulled up a chair in front of me and sat down, caging me.
