Chapter Ten: Secrets of Icarus Falls

Third POV

“They will be here soon Alpha,” Alpha James jumped, turning around to Paul, one of the strongest fighters in his pack. He tried to compose himself but even Paul could tell how nervous his alpha looked. But Paul could not fault him though, even he was shaking and he was known for his fearlessness.

Alpha James gulped, his Adam’s apple moving up and down as he tried to swallow his fears. His legs were shaking and heart racing, but he held his head up high. “Alight, we will meet in my office. Tell the others.” Paul nodded at his alphas command and left to do his bidding.

Alpha James slide down on the ground wondering how the heck he got himself in this mess. He thought he was done with that damn Icarus Falls once their visitor left. What was his name again? Oh yeah, Zion. The boy was polite and kind but the power radiating from him was off the charts. He was not even their current nor future alpha but he could make him, Alpha James, the fearless alpha of wolfhound pack quiver. Zion didn’t stay long, but for the two weeks he spent with them, alpha James thought he would die from heart attack. All his pack members were terrified of Zion –they all went out of their way to welcome him. When Zion finally left, it was the happiest day in the lives of the wolfhound pack members. Not only did Zion not kill any of them from just the power radiating off him, but he didn’t take their alpha’s position. He only wanted to see how they ran their pack.

Alpha James promised his pack that it would be the last time they ever had to deal with anyone from Icarus Falls but now here he was, a few weeks later about to meet with three more of them. His heart race, and even his wolf whimpered not liking what was about to happen. His wolf didn’t like submitting to Zion and now they had to deal with those three, the futures alphas of Icarus Falls.

Icarus Falls, all he knew about the place was that it was three towns and packs put together, but that was thousands of years ago. James wasn’t even sure the people in that place were werewolves. No, they were monsters that even the world quivered at. Was that why nobody had ever seen the inside of that place? Alpha James had heard that humans lived there but he doubt that they were normal humans. Nobody ever left Icarus Falls, and the few humans who left – which was about once every hundred years – had nothing to say about the place only it was paradise on earth.

Alpha James had never even seen the inside. Once, when he was young, he try going there by 'accident' but no matter how hard he searched, he couldn’t find the place. He used to be fascinated about the town; he was constantly searching and dying to talk to anyone who knew the place or been there. But all that changed when the werewolf community made the mistake of inviting the alphas of Icarus Falls to their annual meeting. This was the first time alpha James had seen the face of fear.

The three alphas –Alpha Elohim, Cielo and Solis – were beautiful with their strange hair and eyes. But their beauty was deadly and terrifying. The power searing off them caused everyone in the room to bow down to them, even the alpha King. To them, he was just a simple man and nothing more. Although the three alphas were accommodating, their presences could kill a man with heart attack. That was the last time the werewolf world ever invited them to their annual meetings. And they seem okay with this fact.

The only association the werewolf world had with Icarus Falls was for sport, football. Their football team looked normal although rumor had it they had to do some ancient ritual to look like that. And of course they never once lost a game, ever! And nobody ever score against their team either. He couldn’t count the number of times his son came home depressed because they lost to Icarus Falls football team.
