CHAPTER 9: THE LOST ANGEL

“All demons assemble!” a demon with big black wings shouted.

All the demons formed one line.

“Captain Griffin!” a voice shouted.

I was so scared that the demons might find out that I’m not really a demon.

For the first time, I held onto Griffin without him telling me to hold him.

“Don’t let go of me,” he said.

“I won’t.” I said.

He walked towards the demon with huge wings.

“Yes, Master Adrian.” he said. I can feel some fear in his voice.

The Master looked at me and examined my wings.

“Who is this?” asked the Master.

Griffin stood still. “My new recruit from the human world. She’s a new demon.”

The Master didn’t seem pleased.

“YOU MADE A HUMAN INTO A DEMON?!” he screamed

“Yes.”

The Master was about to scratch Griffin’s wing but Griffin opened his mouth,

“She is the daughter of a King.” Griffin said, “She will be useful for us when we invade the human world.”

Invade the human world. WHAT?!

“Oh. Alright then,” the Master said.

I let go of Griffin’s arms. Taken aback from what he said.

He looked at me and pursed his lips. Fog came out his mouth.

I took his arm again.

“Demons,” he began. “I have heard that in the heavens above, there is a lost angel.”

My heart jumped. I felt Griffin’s arm grew warmer. He squeezed my hand.

“If you found that Lost Angel, you shall bring her to me and we will rip her wings apart,” the Master yelled.

The Demons began to cheer, flapping their wings in mid-air.

Everyone was celebrating, but Griffin.

“Griffin,” I jabbed his arm.

“Shh,” he said. “I’ll keep you safe.”

I nodded.

“Just don’t forget to keep your wings dry or the powder will wash off.”

I nodded again.

A demon is going to be keeping me safe. How ironic.
