CHAPTER 13: THE KING’S WRATH
“Find her,” King Zack said.
“But, my King. There’s nothing. No trace of her feathers,” Jess said.
“I don’t care. You will do everything in your power to bring her back,” he said.
“Yes, your majesty.”
“What are you doing there?” the King’s voice raised. “FIND HER!”
Jess flew away.
The King fell to his knees. Tears fell off his face.
He heard wings flapping from behind
“Whose there?” the King said. “I want to be left alone.”
He felt someone pat him in the head.
He smiled, “Grains…”
The Queen sat beside him.
“We’ll find her,” she said. She put her hands on his cheek. “We always do.”
He grabbed her hand and looked at the Queen.
His eyes were smiling at her.
“Yeah. Everything’s complete when you’re here,” the King clarified.
Queen Grains put King Zack’s head on her shoulder.
“It always is.”
