28.
There was no call or text from him. Nanatiling nakapatay ang kanyang cellphone.
Arcadian wasn't the same without him. We were trying to think positively by hoping he would come back from wherever he was any day from now.
In the office there were still traces of Gavin everywhere.
I missed him. I badly missed him. I want to tell him that that I finally built a bridge. That I already answered his question. When will you be brave? Now. I'm brave now. He was the guy who saw through me. The moment I chose to be brave was the time he decided to be gone.
I should have known. I should have felt it. He was smiling but the expression on his eyes seemed detached, vacant. All this time he was bidding a silent goodbye.
Someone has to lead the meeting.
"Kailangan natin magfocus sa final draft."
Tumahimik ang aking mga kasama.
"Guys, Gavin will show up in the enrollment. He has to.
"Can't we visit him?" I asked.
I've been with Arcadian for more than six months. I know their story. But not Gavin.
"Even once?"
I never thought Gavin would be a stranger to me... to the group.
"He's always been like this. Kahit noong una pa." Sinabi ni Pia.
"He's open but detached. He was not supposed to be here."
Among the current Arcadian silang tatlo nila Gavin ang pinaka matagal na nagkasama.
