When I got back in the house, I shed my clothes and took a long hot shower. Once I got out, I put on some gray sweatpants and a tank top. I left my hair like it was.

I was about to lay down when my phone lit up with a message from Hakeem.

I put my phone down. Some coherent part of my mind told me that I shouldn't be talking to Hakeem. (Oh shittt, I just realized she went with Hakeem and Jamal😂🙊💀)

I never listened to that side and always got myself into some fucked up shit. I did want to give Hakeem a chance to talk to me. Now I was undecided. But until then, I guess I would keep talking to him.

I was dozing off when Brooks called me, making me jump the sleep off. "Wassup Brooks?" I said sleepily.

I yawned and stretched out. "You got yourself a video shoot next weekend, lil lady." Brooks said.

I rubbed my eyes. "Wait, wait, wait. What you say?" I said. Sleep on the brain, sue me.

"I said, you got yourself a video shoot next weekend." Brooks said.

"Forreal?" I said.

"Yeah." Brooks said.

"Where?" I asked.

I got something to write it down on, what with my sucky memory. Brooks told me where it was. Then I remembered something. "Brooks, when's the next time you got extra time in the studio?" I asked.

"All week after next." Brooks said.

"Okay." I said.

"Why, you wanna work on something new?" Brooks asked.

"Yeah." I said.

"Okay, I got you." Brooks said.

I hung up and laid back down in hopes of going back to sleep. And that wasn't an option when Wale called.

"What?" I said, sounding way more irritated that I had meant.

"Woah, okay, what did I do to you?" He asked.

"I'm sorry. I'm grumpy, somebody just woke me up and I was trying to go back to sleep." I said.

"Should I call you back?" Wale said.

"Nah, you good." I said.

"Did things work out with you and what's-his-name?" Wale said.

"Shayaa, and yeah. He took me to a gun range today. I was too tense the first time. The second time I was too loose. The third time, like they always say was a charm. But anyways, he made it all three times he shot and then I shot two more times." I said. Yes, I may have left out that one detail that made the whole thing better.

"Oh, that's nice." He said, chuckling

"How's it going with you and Soledad?" I asked, referring to his girlfriend.

"Pretty good." Wale said.

"That's good to hear." I said.

"Wait, wait, wait, before you try to slink on with the conversation, what details did you leave out, cause I know you did." Wale said.

"No I didn't." I lied, and I immediately gave myself away. When I wasn't trying to make it seem like I wasn't lying, my voice went high pitched when I lied.

"So what happened?" He said as if I had said yes I did. I mean, come on, he had already saw past my lie.

"Oh, uh... something." I said, smirking.

"I can't magically guess what something is." He said.

"Well do it this time." I said. I know, I know, don't remind me. I was stalling.

And Wale wasn't with stalling at all. "Stop stalling." He said.

"Who me, I'm not stalling." I said, my voice high pitched again.

"You're stalling. Now tell me." He said.

"Why?"

"Because I want to know."

"Why?"

"Because I know you left something out."

"Why?"

"Because I just know."

I groaned. He wasn't ever going to give up. "Fine, we got a lil close and--"

"AND WHAT?" Wale said.

"We might have... you know." I said.

"Y'all kissed?! Again?!" Wale said.

"Yeah." I said.

"Ooooooooo, I see y'all. Kissing in public, y'all making y'all debut finally?" Wale said.

"It wasn't necessarily in public, nobody was in the room. And we not even together yet." I said, laughing.

The other end was quiet. "You what?!" Wale said.

"I said it wasn't in publi--"

"I know what you said, I mean you two still haven't got together after a whole month?" Wale said.

"Give it some time." I said.

"I just so happened to wonder how much time that'll be cause a month and three quarters is long enough." Wale said.

"There's a week left in April?" I said dumbly.

"Did I or did I not just say a month and three quarters?" Wale said in a 'duh' voice.

"Oh well sorry." I mumbled.

"Well I gotta go." Wale said.

"Okay, bye." I said. I hung up.

Now Wale had me thinking about it being a whole month and three weeks and me and Shayaa not hooking up. Why was everybody having me thinking so hard about love?
