Seandrea Sledge:
"Trimble?" The dude said.
"Yeah." I said.
"Come on." The dude said.
This dude was being too nice. So I sure as hell didn't expect him to keep up the act. I had tied my jacket around my waist.
He closed the door and I stood there. I kept my hands near my waist the whole time. I even put my hands in my pockets to be on the safe side.
"She down in the basement." He said, pointing towards the basement.
Now I wasn't about to be the stereotypical girl and go down the stairs by myself, knowing he would probably lock me in there. So I pretended to look down there. "I don't see her." I lied.
"She not down there?" The dude said.
"No." I said.
He went towards the stairs and I went behind him. It was quiet down here. He flicked on the singular light that hung from the ceiling with a chain. It made a dim light through the basement. Deja was sitting in a corner, asleep (I hope). "Deja." The man snapped.
Dej woke up and her whole facial expression changed when she saw me. I heard a tapping noise and looked around until I saw Imani through a small window near the ceiling. The dude looked up and saw her too.
"Shit." I muttered under my breath.
"You brought somebody with you?" The dude said.
"Nah, ion know her." I said, nonchalantly.
I held eye contact and didn't fidget around too much so he wouldn't be able to tell I was lying. Still somehow, he saw straight through it. "Nah, you bringing spies and shit, what's your deal." He said.
"I just said I don't know her, the fuck." I said. Now both of us had spoken full sentences and I could tell the difference between our accents.
I took my hands out of my pockets and let them hang by my hips. "I don't know who you basing your voice at but--"
"Dre, just go. Ion want you fucking with Travis." Dej said.
"Uh uh, cause one I just spent a whole six hours driving down here to come save you. Two I actually care about you, so I'm tryna help you." At that moment I knew I had said too much.
"So that's what you came down here for?" Travis said.
"You actually had somebody who cared about you save your ass at the last minute?" I snapped.
"Listen ma, you gone get out or I'm gone put you out myself." Travis said.
"Touch me, I dare you." I said.
Travis stepped up to me and before he did anything, I pistol whipped him. I heard Imani hiss from outside the window. I waved for her to go back to the car. "I ain't came down here to hurt nobody, but you done pushed me past my limit." I said.
I may be short and soft at times but I'm pretty sure you know I'm not scared to beat a nigga to the center of the earth. 7 feet tall or 7 inches tall, I'm going in swinging. That's the type of stuff that comes from being born in Chicago.
"Deja, go out the back, follow Imani. I got this." I said.
"Dre--"
"Deja, just go." I said.
Deja got up and went up the stairs towards the back door. I turned back towards Travis who was getting up. He had a scar on his head. "You little bitch!" He yelled, and I put my arm up to block his fist. He grasped my wrist.
I kicked him in the knee and put my gun to the side of his head. "Touch me one more time or say anything about this, I got a nice bullet that's gone go straight through your head." I said.
Okay, truth be told, I have no idea how to use a gun. I have shot somebody before but that was out of self defense. So technically it was a false threat unless I learned how to use one.
Travis nodded slowly and I walked up the stairs of the basement down the street back towards the car. "Holy shit, Dre!" Imani said.
"What?" I said.
"Your eye is bleeding!" Dej said.
I looked at the mirror on the sun visor. "What the fuck?" I said.
I hadn't even felt anything on my eye but--
"This nigga made it bleed when he jabbed me straight in the eye." I muttered.
I took a tissue and wiped my eye. "I think you still got some eye bandages in the glove box from the time I got in that fight." Imani said.
"Nah, I should be good until we get home." I said, blinking over and over again.
I put the car in reverse and pulled out of the parking space. "How long until we get back home?" Dej asked.
"We'll be back by 4 or 5." I said.

I sorted through the mail and a check caught my eye. It wasn't my paycheck, I didn't get that until next month. It was a check from the soundcloud headquarters apparently.
Then I knew what it was for. It was for all of the people who listened to Chiraq. I read the amount over and over again, I couldn't believe my eyes.
I had fifty fucking thousand dollars.
Hi y'all.
