Everything about Miguel Josef Uy Monteverde made him stood out in the crowd as he made his way towards the counter. Akala mo kung sino siyang artistang pumasok ng Ascend.

Girls were eyeing him with unmistakable desire.

Men felt insecure with his sudden presence.

But Miguel Josef Uy Monteverde simply ignored them, not returning the same interest they had on him.

“Tequila.” Order ni Sef sa barista. He looked around the bar while waiting for his drink. Ilang beses na ba niyang sinabi sa sarili niya na hindi na siya pupunta dito? This place has so many bitter memories. He scanned the room, and he gained himself countless smiles from one girl to the next but still, he did not return the gesture. He only glared at them, kung baga dedma.

Suplado effect syempre! Haha. 

Mga tao dito sa Ascend were two times richer and two times ang dating compared sa The Manor sa Eastwood. Madalas na naghahang-out dito ee mga katulad ni Sef na mga artistahin. No, really. Mga artista talaga. Minsan Jake Cuenca and Gerald Anderson were here. Last night nga lang, sila Sam Milby ee.

Okay, sige na… sila na ang pinupuntahan ng mga artista!! Haha.

“Sir, your drink.” Sabi nung barista.”Can I get you anything else Mr. Monteverde?” Wag na tayong magtaka kung pati manager ng bar na ito ee kilala siya.

Sef shook his head as he took the glass of tequila and took a mouthful of drink.

“Oh, pare!” Biglang may tumapik kay Sef. Isa sa mga kabarkada niya sa GWAPS University, si Paul. “Good to see you here. Been a long time!” 

Kasama ni Paul si Jerry, a tall attractive young man. “Oo nga Sef, di ka na namin nakakasama aa? What’s keeping you so busy?” Kailangan pa sumigaw nila Paul at Jerry dahil sa sobrang lakas ng music.

“Hey, man!” Sef forced a friendly smile. At nag-appear ang mga binata, like what men usually do when they greet each other. “Ee, marami lang inaasikaso.” Sef said, trying to make up an excuse without the need to say too much. Ganun naman talaga si Sef ee, he was never comfortable in telling stories especially when it concerns him. Mas maigi ng sarilihin na lang niya. “Are the other guys here with you?”

“Uh, yeah! Bea is here too.” Sabi ni Paul, leaning against the bar beside Sef. Paul was smiling na parang may ibang ipinapahiwatig. Sef shook his head with a smirk. “What?” Paul asked, matapos niyang uminum sa hawak-hawak niyang bote ng San mig light. “C’mon Sef. It’s been two years man. Dapat naka-move on ka na!!” He tapped Sef on the back. “Try going out with Bea, man! She’s a nice girl.”

Move on daw? Parang naalala tuloy ni Sef si Japo na ilang beses na din sinabi ang mga linyang iyan. Sef laughed. He doesn’t need to explain himself to anyone especially to someone like Paul – na walang nasa isip kundi babae. “Di ka pa rin napapagod? How many girls have you hooked up with me already?” 

“Teka. Teka. Is it true though? I heard you’re dating someone from Matute?” Sef only shrugged. “Pare naman, mas di hamak na may class ang mga girls na nirereto ko sayo!! Well, I’m just trying to help you move on!! Hindi lang ang ex mo ang babae sa mundo!!” Napakunot ang noo ni Sef by the way Paul referred to Lianne. May pangalan yun tao and Paul should be addressing her properly.
