3) The Broken Girl - Part 3

Newt X Reader

Minho and Thomas ran for the past few days while (Y/N) acted like a zombie. She doesn't smile, talk, she only eats when she's told to and she just stares into space. Minho and Thomas were the only ones she talks to. Newt wanted to talk to her desperately but Clint and Jeff only let Minho and Thomas inside. After a few days, they let (Y/N) leave the Med Jack's hut. Newt let (Y/N) become a Frypan's helper for a while just so that she'll have a job.

One day, while they were having a bonfire for the new greenie, Thomas and Minho announced that they found the way out. Everyone was shocked when she smiled and hugged Minho. It was the first time she showed an emotion for the past few weeks.

Newt felt his heart flutter when he saw (Y/N) smile again. He never knew how much he missed it. He didn't know that he was staring at her. He sipped at his drink again and continued staring at her. Teresa saw this but she didn't feel hurt.

"Hey," she said to Newt as she sat beside him.

"Hi," he said not letting his gaze leave (Y/N) and Minho talking.

"You still love her," she said.

"No. No I don't. I love you," he said looking at her now.

"You did Newt. Also I'm breaking up with you," she said to him.

"What?"

"I'm sorry Newt but I haven't been completely honest with you. As the days come and go, I feel myself becoming more and more drawn to Thomas. I can also see that you still love her and you never stopped."

Newt didn't cry. He wasn't mad. He let himself give away a small smile to Teresa as they hugged each other. The hug was saying that they were just friends now. Teresa then ran to Thomas and they shared a long and passionate kiss. Newt saw (Y/N) watching Teresa and Thomas without any emotion showing on her face again.

He saw her smile a small smile. She walked over towards Teresa and to Thomas who hugged her. Teresa was hesitant at first but (Y/N) hugged and she hugged her back. Teresa whispered something to (Y/N) which Newt couldn't make out. (Y/N) looked at Newt and went to her room.

Newt wanted to follow her, to talk to her, hug her and give her a long and passionate kiss just like Teresa and Thomas. Sadly, he didn't have any confidence to do so. He hated himself with what he did to (Y/N). She said that she forgave him but they seldomly talk when they broke up.

The following day, all those who were going to leave were getting ready. While those who were planning to stay were just going on with their lives. Newt woke up early and he was walking by (Y/N)'s room. He stopped when he heard her talking to someone. He placed his ear by the door and listened.

"Gally are you sure we're safe to talk about this here?" (Y/N) ask.

"Yes (Y/N) we are. Now is you know about the plan right?"

"Yeah. Get all of them out safe and die."

Die? What is she talking about?

"Good. Be safe ok?"

"I will. See ya Gally."

"See you (Y/N)."

Newt heard Gally walking towards the door. He ran by bush and saw Gally walk out with (Y/N). They hugged again and he saw tears coming out of (Y/N)'s face. It looked like Gally was going to cry too but he stopped it. She walked back in her room and Newt walked to Minho and Thomas.

After a few hours, when the Maze doors opened, everyone was looking at it with anticipation. Newt stared at (Y/N) who was focused on the wall. They all ran in the Maze following Thomas and Minho. (Y/N) was placed at the back so that she could watch out for everyone.
