Thomas Sangster X Reader

Short A/N: To those who've read The Start Of Something New: Fixing Relationships, this is set two weeks before that. Before the family vacation. This part two has been requested by Electric-Hope. This wasn't really what you requested but the next chapter is what you requested.

(Y/N)'s POV

I came home that day waiting for Thomas. I waited for a call, a text, but nothing came. I kept on thinking of excuses that his phone might've broke and that there's no signal. But at the back of my mind, I know that he just doesn't want to be friends with me.

A tear escaped my eye and a scoff escaped my lips. I just went inside my room and locked it so that my parents won't see me crying. My phone rang and I saw that (B/F/N) is calling me.

"Hello?" I tried to not make it obvious that I was crying but my voice broke, betraying me.

"What happened?" Her voice was filled with concern.

"Thomas isn't coming."

"He might be busy," (B/F/N) said. "Also, Thomas isn't the only reason you're crying is it? Is it Robbie?"

"It still hurts (B/F/N). I'm sorry if I'm still talking about him but having a broken heart is really horrible."

I heard (B/F/N) sigh. "It's alright. You were trying to move on and got hurt all over again. Do you want me to come over?"

"No thanks. I'll just go for a walk somewhere," I sniffed.

I took my coat and walked around the block. Thomas's house wasn't really far from mine. I walked slowly when I reached Thomas's house. I wasn't planning on going inside the house but just passing through. I was walking away from the house but then it started to rain.

I used my coat as my umbrella and was about to go back to my house. The rain was getting harder and I was still a little far from my house. I scolded myself for walking so far. A sudden gust of wind blew towards my direction and blew my coat away. I groaned at this string of bad luck and just continued walking.

The rain was falling, dropping on my skin. I shivered but I had no plan on trying to get myself warm. The rain reminded me of the night I first cried over Robbie. I tried not to cry for days but one night, the tears just bursted from my eyes and the sky seemed to do the same that night. I started to cry again but I didn't care if people could see. I stopped walking and just let the raindrops touch me.

"Stupid heart," I told myself. "Stupid feelings! Stupid (Y/N)!"

I stopped talking because I saw that a shadow was looming over me and I could no longer feel the raindrops touch my skin. I didn't bother to wipe the tears on my face since they aren't noticeable with the raindrops on my face. I looked up and saw that it was Thomas. He was holding an umbrella and a towel. He wrapped the towel around me without hesitation and wiped my face.

"Thomas?"

"(Y/N) what are you doing out here in the rain?"

"Nothing. I just wanted to go for a walk. What are you doing here?"

"I went to your house and saw that you weren't there. I went back home and Ava said that she saw you walking around," Thomas smiled. "Was there a misunderstanding in our talk earlier? Were you supposed to go to my house?"

"No," (Y/N) couldn't meet his eyes. She had so little faith in him.

"Come on. My house is nearer. I'm sure Ava would be happy to lend you some of her clothes. Some might be big but we can make it work," Thomas let out a chuckle to try to lighten the mood.

"Alright," I said. Thomas's efforts were for naught since all the way I never smiled, not even once.

Throughout the week, Thomas and I didn't talk. I couldn't bring myself to talk to Thomas after that afternoon. I felt so embarrassed and humiliated because he saw me at my most vulnerable moment. I know that that was the first time he saw her cry.

Thomas's POV

(Y/N) has been acting really distant since that afternoon when I found her at the rain. I looked at her eyes and saw that it was red. It was clear that she was crying. I wanted to ask why but I might make matters worse. I've known her for fourteen nearly fifteen years but we've never had a conversation before until the last couple of days.

Tomorrow is the day of the family vacation with (Y/N)'s family. I want to be able to talk to her. She seemed liked a very interesting girl. I really want to get to know her.

I remember that afternoon when I took her to my house. I put my arm around her and I could've sworn she continued crying. I pulled her closer to me so that she would get warmer. When she left my arms, I felt like something was missing. It really felt good having her in my arms.

Then I remember that day she talked to me. Her face was so bright and cheery but I never thought that it was just a mask and she was hiding her true emotions. I really thought that she would be some control freak or like a hall monitor but she's actually a cool person. That's why I'm going to try and talk to her later.

After school, I saw her walking alone with her phone in her hand. I wondered where her best friend was as I walked closer to her. I saw her sit at the bench just outside the Clinic. I sat beside her and she looked flustered.

"Hi," I said.

"Hi," she formed a small smile on her lips and I was glad that she got to smile again even if it's not a genuine one.

"Do you have any plans after school?" I asked.

"Not really. Other than packing for the trip, nothing. What about you?"

"Nothing. I'm all set," I took a breath before I asked. "Do you want to get some ice cream?"

She wasn't talking at first. It's clear that she's thinking. "Sure. I'd love to," she replied with a smile in her face. I had a quick glance of her eyes and it had a single sparkle in her eyes.

A/N: Okie the vacation will be in the next chapter. I would also like to say:

I'm sorry for not updating for a couple of days. I was a little focused on my other book since I haven't updated that book for a long time.
