22) My Joy

Thomas Sangster X Reader

Thomas runs as fast as he can into the red house that was burning to the ground. His eyes looked around and saw a lot of people gathering but he was only focused on looking for one person and that's (Y/N).

When he saw her, he didn't know if he should be relived because he saw her being dragged at the back of the ambulance. He saw that a lot of parts of her body was burned. Thomas couldn't bear to see the sight of her and ran away from the crowd and cried. For years he searched for her, he found her now, almost burned to the bone. He felt a hand on his shoulder and he saw his sister who cried with him.

"I don't know what happened Thomas," Ava stammered. "We were just watching a movie and then the house was burning. I got to leave as fast as I can but I thought that she was gone. I didn't know that she was still inside."

"It's alright," Thomas comforted his sister as she cried. "It's not your fault. Are you alright?"

"Yeah I'm fine. But I'm not so sure about (Y/N). She's on her way to the hospital, they wouldn't let me inside. Come on, let's take my car."

"No mine. You're unfit to drive," Thomas suggested. Ava wasn't in the mood to argue because she wanted to see if her friend is alright. The both of them took Thomas's car to the hospital.

When they got there, they saw (Y/N)'s other friends who were waiting. When they saw Thomas, most of them were shocked while the others were giving him death glares.

"What is he doing here?" Damond, one of (Y/N)'s friends said. He was about to attack Thomas but he was blocked by Ava and others.

"We don't need this!" Sally, one of (Y/N)'s friends said. "(Y/N) wouldn't want us to fight. Now let's just sit quietly and wait."

No one argued since in their group of friends, Sally was the tough one. So they all sat down and waited until the doctor will tell them what happened. Ava and Thomas sat beside each other. Ava was looking around while Thomas was playing with his thumbs. It was clear that everyone can't really sit still, but they're all trying to.

Ava saw that Thomas was fighting with himself not to stand up and yell at the nurse for (Y/N) so she took her bag and took out a notebook. She laid it on Thomas's lap and he looked at it confused.

"This is (Y/N)'s, she let me borrow it so I could read it. I hope that we could read it together so that the time would pass just a little faster."

Thomas nodded and Ava opened the notebook. They both smiled when they saw (Y/N)'s fancy handwriting.

Dear Diary,

Today is just another day in my normal life. I'm so tired and I feel like I've lost all my will to live. Everyone here hates me for their own personal reasons but I don't care. As long as I have people who still like me, I'm alright with that. I still have joy.

I know that the person who hates me the most is Thomas Sangster. Yes he is the Thomas Sangster that I have a crush on. The irony in that is so huge that it made me laugh so much. Then my very best friend is his sister. I think that Thomas thinks that the world hates him because of me. Because I'm in his life.

How are things going on my dancing? It's getting really depressing for me. Everyone that doesn't dance sees me as an amazing dancer but to be that, I need to face a lot of ridicule from my teachers who always tells me what I do is wrong. Because of that, all my love for dance is gone and I'm telling my mom that I'm quitting and I'll just pursue my music and acting.

"She acts?" Thomas asked Ava.

"Yeah, remember your movie, Love Actually?" Thomas nodded. "Well, she got the role of your leading lady but when she heard that you got the role of the leading man, she declined the offer."
