Numb.

You know what you should be feeling.

What you're supposed to be feeling.

What all the normal people are feeling.

But you just don't.

You feel nothing.

Numb.

Just numb.

You're grateful when you receive gifts, you know that you are. You want to show the giver just how grateful you are. But how? How when you don't actually feel it?

When there's just nothing?

A soul destroying, suffocating, gut wrenching, swirling, never ending nothing.

Just a vast mass of emptiness.

Filling every crack inside you like a solid block of cement.

You can't do anything.

You can't even bring yourself to wash in the shower. You just stand there until your knees give way and you slide to a sit, letting the water rush past you.

But you just don't care.

You can't care.

You want to.

But you can't.

Because there is only nothing.

There is only numb.

Numb.
