It's New Year's Eve, and quite frankly, Mitch couldn't have been more excited for the new year.
2016 had been a train wreck, and everyone knew it.
Mitch, personally, wanted to take on the new year with a fresh start. He was going to get over his boyfriend, meet someone new, and maybe finally move out of his hometown.
Currently, Mitch was in front of a mirror, putting the final touches on his makeup. The time was around 7:30 pm, and Mitch was getting ready for a new year party. He was dressed in a simple maroon sweater and ripped skinny jeans, but he looked amazing.
Let's be honest. He always does.
Mitch finally deemed himself attractive enough and pulled away from the mirror, tugging on his heeled combat boots and grabbing his keys and phone. With one final glance in the mirror, he was out the door.

The party was packed.
Mitch immediately struggled to force himself through the crowds, as he was very, very tiny with no muscle on him whatsoever, so it was easy for the other party guests to accidentally push him around as they danced or got some more drinks.
Eventually, he made it to the drink table, and he simply poured himself some fruit punch, not ready to get drunk yet. Mitch nursed it gingerly, watching the partygoers dance and talk and laugh. It wasn't until another voice spoke did he finally say a word. "Hello."
Mitch turned to see the man standing next to him with a charming smile, and he smiled back, straightening up. "Hi."
"My name is Peter, nice to meet you." The man held out a hand for Mitch to shake, and the smaller man did so readily. "Mitch." Peter flashed another one of his charming smiles and took Mitch's hand, bringing it to his lips to kiss. Mitch smiled back, his heart fluttering in his chest. "You look lovely tonight, Mitch," Peter said, and Mitch blushed, turning away in an effort to hide it. "Thank you," he said softly. Peter chuckled lowly and playfully spun Mitch around. "I'm sure you'd look even lovelier on the dance floor with me. Care to dance?"
"Oh, n-no, thanks, I'm not much of a dancer—"
"Nonsense!" Peter took Mitch's drink from him and set it down, whisking him off to the dance floor.

"I told you it would be fun," Peter said with a teasing glint in his eye, and Mitch laughed breathlessly, his cheeks flushed. "Whatever." Peter grinned and slipped his arms around Mitch's waist, pulling him to his side. "What do you say we find a private room? Then we'll see how much better you look with these clothes of yours on the floor," he purred softly in Mitch's ear, and Mitch shivered, trying to pull away from him. "No, thank you. I just met you, Peter," he said, but Peter turned and poured Mitch another drink. "Here. Take it. I insist." Mitch hesitated, glancing nervously up at him, and started to reach out and take it before another hand slapped his away.
"No! I saw you put something in this drink," a different man snapped, pushing Mitch protectively behind him. "What? I would never do such a thing," Peter said, mocking offense, but the man just scoffed. "I saw you. You had a little vial and you poured whatever was inside into that drink."
"How do we know you're just trying to frame me for something that you did?"
"I, unlike you, am a respectable man. I do not want to seduce this boy just to get in his pants. He seems like a kind, genuine person and I'd like to get to know him better."
"Whatever. He's not even worth it anyway," Peter spat, turning on his heel and stalking off.
The man took a few deep breaths to calm himself, then turned and offered a small smile at Mitch. "Are you okay?" he asked gently. Mitch let out a shaky breath and nodded, brushing himself off. "Thanks." The man smiled back, waving his hand dismissively. "I did what anyone should've done. I couldn't let him take advantage of you."
The pair talked for the rest of the night. Mitch actually found himself take a liking to his savior, and they exchanged numbers so they could meet again.
At 11:59, when everyone was doing the countdown, Mitch looked up at Scott and pulled him down for a kiss just as the clock struck midnight.
