Scott timidly followed Kirstin into the store, his arms around his stomach and his sleeves over his hands. He wore a long black sweater of Mitch's and leggings, and a blush was on his cheeks.

Kirstin grinned as she looked around, taking Scott's hand to lead him over to a rack of clothing. "Do you think he'd like one of these?" she asked, skimming through the lingerie. Before Scott could answer, however, an employee came over and smiled pleasantly at the pair. "Hello. Do we need any help?" he asked. "Oh, yes, thank you. Help would be great," Kirstie said with a smile, and the man smiled back, nodding slightly at her. "Okay. I'd be happy to help you. What are you wanting to try?"

Kirstie laughed and shook her head. "Oh, no. We're not shopping for me. Scott just wanted me to come because he's too shy to go on his own." The employee's gaze slowly went to the tall man beside her, who was blushing furiously and hiding his face in his hands. "Oh," he said, blinking once. "Well, um, what are you wanting to try?" Scott was far too embarrassed to speak, so Kirstin piped up again. "Scott wanted to surprise his boyfriend for his birthday," she said, smirking slightly at the boy beside her. The man nodded slowly. "Okay. What does your boyfriend like when you're... you know?" he asked Scott. The poor boy blushed even more and peeked at him through his fingers. "W-We've never d-d-done anything bef-fore," he whispered shyly, and the man couldn't help but smile slightly at how innocent the boy seemed. "Well, what's his favorite color?"

"H-He says h-he l-likes it when I w-wear black..."

The man nodded and led the pair to a different rack of lingerie, skimming rough them before getting out a few outfits and handing them to Scott. "You can go try them on, the dressing room's over there." Scott felt his cheeks heat up yet again, but he went in and obeyed. "How does it look??" Kirstie asked excitedly from just outside the door, but Scott wrapped his arms around himself as he stared at his reflection. "I- I don't know, K-Kirst, m-maybe this wasn't such a g-good idea..." Kirstin rolled her eyes. "Nonsense. Mitch will love this. How does it look?"

"I look h-horrible," Scott said quietly, but Kirstie sighed and shook her head. "I'm sure you don't, Scotty. You're absolutely gorgeous." Scott frowned and held himself tighter, subconsciously taking a step back. "But I look fat. I am fat. M-Mitchy will hate me..." Kirstin shook her head again, biting her lip. "You're not fat. And Mitch won't hate you, have you seen the way he looks at you? You're his entire world, Scotty. He'll love you no matter what. Come on, get dressed. We're getting this one, okay?"

It was around four in the afternoon on Mitch's birthday, and the brunet was at work, like usual. Scott knew his boyfriend would be home in around an hour, so he began to get everything ready, putting the lingerie on under his clothes and setting the dinner out on the table.

"Darling?" Mitch called an hour later as he walked in, and Scott let out a soft breath to calm his racing heart, coming out to see him. "Hi, Mitchy," he said quietly, offering him a small, nervous smile. Mitch smiled back and wrapped his arms around his waist, hugging him gently. "Hi, baby. I missed you." Scott blushed and shyly hugged back. "I missed you too. H-Happy birthday..." Mitch smiled and pulled away, standing on his tiptoes to peck Scott's lips. "Thank you, baby," he said, and Scott blushed, shyly slipping his hand into Mitch's and leading him to the table.

"Wow, you made all this for me?" Mitch asked as he looked around at the setup. Scott nodded and pulled open a chair for him, letting him sit down. "Mhm. It's your birthday, Mitchy," he said quietly, going to sit in his own chair once Mitch was settled. They ate together, Scott listening quietly as Mitch talked about his day. When they finished eating, Scott took the plates to the sink and used the time alone to try to stop his hands from shaking. He emerged a few moments later and offered Mitch a small, nervous smile. "Th-There's one more surprise, so I need you to stay here while I finish setting it up," he said quietly, playing with his fingers. Mitch returned the smile and nodded. "Okay. I can do that." Scott nodded slightly and pressed a kiss to Mitch's cheek before hurrying upstairs.
