Flight to Manila, Philippines? Tomorrow. Its almost 4 years since I started my life here in New York. My teenage life occured here, and now I need to say goodbye to all of this for a while.
"Hey, are you serious? Do you really have to go?"
"Sorry Wayne, I really need too. My gut tells me that I should start picking up whats been missing in my memories."
"And you believe that you can find answers in that place?"
I nodded.
"And youre willing to give up your racing career because youre curious about your past?"
"I'm not giving up!"
"Then stay."
I can hear the bitterness and disapproval in his voice, I know he never wanted me to leave but I really made my decision. I gave him a hug, he is my bestfriend. He is a filipino american and he's one of the reasons why I'm an Active Street Racer.
"I can't make you stay, can't I?"
"Sorry."
"Then just promise me Elaine, avoid the Prince."
Tinitigan ko sya ng parang nagtatanong kung anong ibig nyang sabihin.
"Street Racer Prince is also a Filipino and Philippines is his teritory and other asian countries, you dummy. Youre gonna live where he lives!"
"Wayne! Ang lawak nag Pilipinas! Imposible na bigla lang kaming magkabungo sa isang lugar!"
"Kaya nga iiwasan mo diba?"
"OVER—-PROTECTIVE—-BESTFRIEND—-ALERT!"
He glared at me like saying he was serious but I just laughed at him.

"Janelle?" isang pamilyar na boses ang narinig ko mula sa di kalayuan. Kadarating ko lang dito sa pilipinas.
"Mark Rei!" sabay takbo at yakap ko sa kanya.
Katulad ng dati, mas matangkad parin sya sakin! Noong bata pa lang kasi kami hanggang balikat nya lang ako. Unang beses ko syang niyakap mula noong umalis ako dito at kita ang hanggang tengang ngiti nito.
"Miss me?" pangtutukso pa nito.
"Obviously."
"Make sure you did."
"Where's Angela? Isnt she supposed to be here?"
"Naghihintay sya sa bahay nyo."
"What?!"
"Gusto nyang masiguradong didiretsyo muna tayo sa bahay kasi kailangan mo munang magpahinga." ngumiti pa ito ng nakakaloko.
"Kailan pa naging matalino ang isang yun?! Balak ko pa namang magcelebrate muna bago umuwi." napasimangot ako sabay hila ko na si Rei palabas ng airport at sumakay sa sasakyan nya. Kaylangan ko nang makita si Angela!
REI'S POV
Mark Rei Concepcion, isa sa bestfiend ni Janelle Elaine Park simula pa noong 8 years old sya. Parang sariling kapatid na ang turing ko kay Janelle. Wala syang pinagbago, medyo gumanda lang sya. Medyo?
"How's New york, Elaine?"
