I tried to take one more step but Karen warned me if I come any closer, she'll kill Allison. "Give me back my wife" I uttered.
"Don't worry Ben I will, but first you must do something for me" she said. "What is it?" I asked and then she started walking to us. "Ben .."Natalie whispered. "It's okay" I replied as Karen touched my face. As soon as she did, flashes of the Espheni towers flashed through my vision. Then I heard her say "I wanna know where the weapon will be placed". I snapped back to reality and pushed her away from me.
"You'll never get the answer" I said and so she turned to Allison. The Skitters nodded and they started taking her back to the ship. I can't let that happen so I yelled "Stop!" Karen turned back to me and asked me if I'm going to tell her the answer. To be honest, I don't know where but I'm willing to lie just to get Allison back.
I was about to talk when the ground started shaking. Our spikes started to glow, Karen and Allison's harnesses started to light up. We all looked up the sky as Karen uttered "It's starting".
Flashes of neon lights shot up and covered the skies like a spider web. "The grid is up, you all lost" Karen said triumphantly. The next events happened so fast I barely had enough time to react.
Allison grabbed the Skitters's arms and twisted it as she jumped. Natalie started firing at the Skitters and they fell down. Karen launched herself at Allison who fell down on the ground. I tried to shoot her but I can't get a clear shot. Instead, I grabbed Karen by the shoulders and threw her away as hard as I could.
"Ben" Allison said happily as she gave me the tightest huug ever.
"How is this happening?" I asked as , wondering how is she able to resist the effect of the harness. "Look out" Natalie yelled as she fired a shot towards Karen, but she's able to dodge it.
"This can't be" Karen glared, I know she's surprised too. She then ran back inside the ship as Nat and I started firing at her. The ramp quickly shielded her from the bullets that's why she's able to get away.
The ship floated in the air and then left the area. "Thank God you're alive" I told Allison. I was about to kiss her but Natalie coughed. That got both of us giggling a bit. "Where's Charlie?" I asked and saw the sad reaction in her face.
"What happened?" I asked again, bracing myself for the worst case scenario.
"He's still alive , but we must get him" she replied. I let out a huge sigh of relief, I thought he's dead. My world will completely crush if that happens.

Allison's P.O.V
I'm happy that I'm back in Ben's arms but the fight is nowhere near yet. I have to get my son back, I have to make Karen pay for everything that she did.
We spent the next few minutes introducing Natalie to me, I think she's a nice girl. I hopped on at the back of Ben's motor bike and we made our journey back to Charleston. I also learned a lot of things about the Overlords and I'm willing to tell everything to Tom as long it will help us.
It took us over an hour to return to Charleston to be surprised at how everything looks. "Holy Crap" Natalie uttered.
Standing in front of us are countless of people trying their best to dig out some people. The Charleston building is gone ... we've been attacked.
"What the hell happened here?" I asked.
"I think the Mole attacked" Ben uttered as his gun fell down on the ground.
