A/N: Oh my! I actually have 40 reads! Which I know doesn't sound a lot, but it means so much, I never expected anyone to want to read my stories.

Thank you so much :P This will be a fluffy one shot

TW: None.

Dan's POV

Lugging my suitcase up the many steps of the university, I take my last few steps and place it down before turning to my crying mother. She instantly wraps her arms around me, "Are you sure you don't want us to come up with you?"

"Yeah, mum. It's fine, seriously," I pat her back awkwardly and look at my father hopelessly.

He tugs away my mum and smiles widely at me, "I'm proud son, make me prouder." He also then wraps his arms around me, but steps away shortly after.

"Right, I'll see you at christmas then," I sigh, picking my case back up, while waving slightly at my still crying mum.

I somehow make it into my room in one piece and throw my suitcase onto what I presume is my bed, as the other is already made, with a green and blue checkered pattern. A laptop lays upon them, with a few notebooks.

Grabbing my earphones from my rucksack, I place them in my ears and lay down beside my suitcase, closing my eyes to fully enjoy the music. I must have dosed off, as the next thing I know are a pair of blue eyes staring directly at me and my earphones are no longer in my ears, but in his hand. I jump from the bed and hit my head on the wall in the process, wincing I glare at the random stranger, who just awoke me.

"Sorry," he chuckles and it's already clear that he's northern. "You looked peaceful, but it's getting late and you're probably going to be hungry, so I awoke you."

I sit up fully and yawn, "Thanks, I guess."

"I'm Phil. Phil Lester," he sticks out his hand for me to take. "I'm guessing you're my roomie, because otherwise it'd be a bit weird."

"Yeah," I shake his hand, noticing how strong he is. "I'm Dan Howell."

"Hi, Dan and welcome to hell," he laughs loudly, while sitting down on his own bed. "This is my second year here, so I can go through everything you need to know etcetera."

I nod, still adjusting to the bright lights in the room, "Thanks, what are you studying?"

"English and art, you?"

"Law," I huff, pulling out my phone from the side of my bed.

He tilts his head, "You don't seem too happy about that?"

Rolling my eyes I reply, "I didn't want to take it."

"So why are you?"

"Dad."

"Oh."

I glance over the room, "So, have you been alone the whole year?"

"Nah, Robbie was my old roomie, but he was a prick and left anyway," he sighs. "We didn't like any of the same stuff, so it was boring."

I nod, "What do you like?" I ask curiously, nerves twitching inside. I'm hoping he likes stuff I like, please?

"I like to watch anime, I listen to bands like muse, Fall Out Boy and my chemical romance, what about you? Please tell me you like at least one?"

I laugh, "I like them all."

His eyes crinkle at the sides, "Really? You aren't just saying that because you feel bad for me?"

"Nah, I really like My Neighbour Totoro."

"No!" he jumps up and down on his bed like a child. "That's my favourite. I can tell we are going to get along, Dan Howell." A knock at the door startles me and Phil giggles, "That's probably just Chris and Pj, my friends."

He opens the door to reveal two guys stood holding hands. "Hey, Phil!" the one with green eyes and floppy hair starts, "He's not a prick is he?"

"Nope, Dan this is Chris and Pj. Guys this is Dan, my new roomie," Phil smiles widely. "He's great guys."

"Thanks, nice to meet you," I stick out my hand, but instead am enveloped into a hug by who I presume is Chris.

"He's so damn hot, Phil!"

A blush rises to my cheeks, as Pj tears Chris away glaring at him angrily, "Chris, I'm your boyfriend remember!"

"Oh yeah, sorry," Chris pouts, kissing Pj lovingly on the cheek. "He is hot though, isn't he?"

Phil awkwardly rubs the back of his neck and chuckles nervously, "So, dinner?"

"Yep, that's why we're here, Phil," Pj laughs, tugging Chris out by the arm. "Invite Dan!"

I gulp, "You don't have to invite me, I'll just do- something."

Phil frowns and laughs, "Dan, I am not going to leave you to eat dinner alone on your first day! You've got them to look forward too in the future when you have too much work!"

My first day went a whole lot better than I could have hoped and I gained four friends for life.

A/N: Sorry, it's written badly. I'm so tired and stressed at the moment with school. Tomorrows one shot should be good tho, as it's pre written.
