The cool air from the shop hit Dan, as soon as he stepped into the chaotic supermarket; he had always hated these places and wished that Phil would just order online. Phil on the other hand, loved grocery shopping, especially with Dan. It was always so fun and he could pick out new food to try and he loved to watch the others around him.

Usually the shop was quiet, but seeing as it was two days before Christmas, everyone was frantically searching for anything suitable for christmas dinner. This was why Dan and Phil were here; it was going to be their first christmas together as a couple and Phil's parents were coming down to spend it with them. They didn't know that Dan and Phil were together yet and this had been playing on Dan's mind for the whole week.

"Phil, why couldn't you do this online?" Dan asked, shivering slightly from the cold mist coming from the frozen section.

Phil hummed along to the christmas tune playing on the radio, which was barely audible over all the noise, "Because, I forgot and it was too late this morning. They were booked up!"

Dan huffed and grudgingly followed Phil around the supermarket, dodging ferocious mothers with their trolleys and kids. He really hated grocery shopping.

"Right, do you think mum would want red or white wine?" Phil asked, whilst tapping his lip in concentration. Usually this would distract Dan and make him want to pounce Phil, but not today.

"I don't know and don't care, Phil," Dan replied hastily earning a glare from Phil. "I just want to get out of here."

Phil sighed and pulled Dan closer to him, so that he could wrap his arm supportingly around Dan's shaking figure. "Oh, Danny you're shaking. Why didn't you say?"

Dan just shrugged in response and scanned the shelves for anything appropriate for Christmas Eve. "Do you want to get something for christmas eve?"

"Uhm, yeah sure. Mum and Dad are coming up that night, so we probably should," Phil glanced up at Dan. "You can go sit in the car if you want? I don't mind."

"No, no," Dan shook his head. "I'm okay. As long as you don't leave my side."

"Never," Phil replied, while grabbing a nice looking bottle of red and placing it carefully into the already half full trolley.

Dan frowned at the trolley, "How are we affording all this?"

"Mum and Dad gave me some money for it, to thank us for having them," Phil replied, as if it was nothing, but to Dan this was a lot.

"What are they going to think of me?" Dan spluttered. "That I take money off of them to make them dinner and I've now hooked up with their son."

Phil frowned, completely confused at Dan's sudden outburst, "What on earth are you talking about? Hooked up with? I'm not a one night stand, Dan!"

"Yeah, I know, but they might not see it that way," Dan exclaimed. "They're gonna hate me."

Phil placed his hands onto Dan's cheeks and forced Dan's gaze to his, "Dan, everything is going to be fine. You need to calm down, okay? I love you, they will love you. They already do love you, Dan. They've known you forever!"

Sighing, Dan finally began to breathe normally again and leant into Phil's embrace, taking in the full scent of vanilla and lynx. "Are you wearing my lynx?"

"It reminds me of you," Phil laughed nervously. "I hope that's okay?"

"Of course it is, dweeb. Come on let's get finished shopping."
