"You will never guess what happened today, Dan!" Phil exclaimed, as he walked into their apartment to see Dan sitting on his laptop, as per usual.

Dan momentarily looked up from tumblr, "What?"

With a great huff, Phil sat down next to Dan, but twisted so that he was facing Dan completely. "So, I'm walking through this park, right? And out of nowhere four fans screamed at me, just as I was about to cross the road!"

"Right?" Dan looked up and this is when he wished he hadn't. Phil looked so perfect, even if he was flustered and as red as tomato; he knew he was attracted to Phil, but he couldn't do anything about it, as he was pretty sure Phil was only interested in him as a friend.

"Yeah, but there was a bus coming and..." Phil's voice had drowned out, as Dan studied each one of Phil's features, as if he would never see them again.

The way his hair was slightly wavy from the sweat on his forehead, his perfectly shaped eyebrows, which Dan had always been secretly jealous of, his perfectly shaped lips, which looked oh so kissable, the way they would turn up when he smiled and even looked adorable when he was angry. However, the best feature was his eyes; they held so much emotion and character that they almost overwhelmed Dan. Almost.

"Dan, are you even listening?" Phil's change in tone caught Dan off guard bringing him back into reality.

Dan stuttered nervously, "Y-yeah. Course I am."

"What did I just say then?" Phil crossed his arms, annoyed that his best friend wasn't even listening to what he had just said.

"Uhm, that you nearly got hit by a bus," Dan answered awkwardly.

"And then what?"

Dan sighed, defeated, "I don't know."

Phil stood from his seats, tears brimming in his eyes, but he didn't know why he was getting so worked up over this. Maybe it was because the boy he loved, didn't even care for him enough to listen to him. "You never listen, Dan!" With that, Phil stormed off to his room, angrily.

Dan just sat in shock; he'd never seen Phil react in such a way. He never got that angry, especially at Dan. He got up and warily walked up to Phil's door, which was covered with many stickers, bringing a small smile to Dan's lips. Even at the prime age of 29, Phil was still a child at heart and always probably would be.

However, Dan's heart dropped, as he heard the faint sobs of his best friend coming from the other side of the wooden door. "Phil?" When he received no reply, he opened up the door to peak his head inside, to see a heap under Phil's duvet. "Phil, I'm sorry. I promise I'll listen."

"You don't care. Don't lie," Phil replied through his sobs. "Just leave me alone."

Dan stepped carefully over to the bed, sitting down beside Phil, "I do care. Believe me, I care way too much about you, Philip Michael Lester, that is no longer healthy." Before Dan had realised what he had just said, Phil had sat up and stared straight into Dan's brown orbs.

"Really?" he sniffed. "Why don't you ever listen to me then?"

Dan chuckled sadly, "If I told you, you would leave and think me a complete weirdo."

Resting his hand on Dan's knee supportively, "I would and could never think that, Dan. Please tell me."

Dan sighed, "Fine, but please don't hate me."

"Never."

"I get lost in your features," Dan whispered, barely audible.

Phil chuckled, "You're going to have to speak up, remember I am deaf."

"I get lost in your face, Phil. Your eyes, your lips, even your damn eyebrows. You distract me to the point where I can't even focus on anything going on around me!" Dan huffed, but he was glad he could finally get it off of his chest. Phil looked at Dan, completely dumbfounded by Dan's outburst. "Look, Phil. I, I think I may have a crush on you, okay? I understand if that weirds you out and if you want to leave, but I love you so much and it would break my heart if you left. I'd rather us still be friends than you leaving because of the awkwardness."

However, to Dan's surprise, Phil wrapped his arms tightly around Dan's slim figure and sighed contently into his shoulder. "I love you too, you idiot."

"Wait, you do?" Dan asked unsure if he had just heard correctly.

Phil leaned back and smiled fully, causing Dan's heart to do backflips, "Yes, I do and I'm so happy that this is the reason you weren't listening. I thought you found me boring."

"I could never find you boring, Phil," Dan leaned in closer, resting his forehead on Phil's, before connecting their lips for mere seconds, but it still sent shivers down both of their spines. "So, what happened today?"
