A/N: Here is my new oneshot. It's weirdly hard getting back into the swing of writing short stories, but here ya go. I hope you like it!
                              ---------------------------
Dan sighed, as he walked through the busy streets of London with his head hung low and earphones blasting music into his ears. He liked to block out the rest of the world because the world was bland. Well it was for those without soulmates.
Dan lived in a world where everything was black and white; the sky, the trees, the sea and the animals. Everything was in black and white. He'd never seen the bright colour of the sun or the lush colour of leaves and grass, which he had been told many times was the most amazing colours to witness. However, Dan hadn't witnessed any colours yet, not even one. It hadn't bothered him before, he always brushed it off saying that he had plenty of time, but now Dan was about to turn twenty six and he felt as though he was going to die without seeing colour.
Truthfully, Dan was desperate to find his soulmate; not really for the love bit, but to see colour. He'd only ever dreamed of seeing colour, to know what shade of 'brown' his hair was, which he only knew because his mother told him what it was called. It just looked black to him and his face was white in contrast.
Dan kicked at a few stones on the concrete, his mind not focused on where he was walking and then out of nowhere someone bumped into him causing him to stumble backwards.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" the person says, whilst still running in the opposite direction to Dan.
Dan double takes. Did he just see what he thought he saw? He shook his head; no that was impossible, he thought.
Dan headed to his nearest Starbucks and ordered a caramel macchiato before taking his usual seat in the back of the cafe. He sipped carefully on his drink, bearing in mind it was still piping hot and flicked through his Instagram feed. Instagram was depressing for those who didn't have soulmates yet, as it was full of couples flaunting their love and their new found colours. Dan found himself silently wishing for a soulmate to run along and for his world to be lit up with all of these supposedly wonderful colours.
The thing Dan wanted to see most was the colour of the ocean. He imagined it would be an amazing sight of multiple colours all merging into one and creating the ultimate colour. He feared he would never find out.
"I'll have a caramel macchiato," the same voice from earlier asked breathlessly.
Dan looked up and there it was again; a flash of something he couldn't describe. He stood from his chair and walked through the cafe up to the counter and stopped just in front of the tall man at the counter.
"Can I help you?" the man asked impatiently, but his features softened. "Oh, it's you. I ran into you didn't I?"
Dan could only nod in response, because his focus was no longer on the man, but his eyes. They weren't just black orbs now, they were the same colour that he saw flash by earlier. He leaned in a little further, which unsettled the man.
"What are you doing?" the man asked with a frown.
"Oh," Dan said, just as shocked at himself as the man was. "Sorry, it's just that your eyes, they're,"
"They're what?" the man raised his eyebrows, his patience was thinning and he'd had enough of crazy weirdos that day.
"They're a colour!" Dan yelped and slapped a hand over his mouth. He'd finally found him. His soulmate.
The man laughed, "No, they can't be."
                              Dan frowned, "Why not?"
"I've already found my soulmate," he replied and took his drink off of the counter. "Sorry, mate."

Phan One Shots
FanfictionHere are just some Phan (Dan and Phil) one shots I decided to write on evenings when I'm sitting, bored at home. There won't be any major triggers, only some angst. Otherwise the majority of the stories will be pure fluff, with a touch of angst to...
