This Time

Chapter eight

We hugged. Butterflies were in my stomach, I was about to puke.

The bell rings. Damn.

Hunter walked me to my next class. We talked abit as we walked.

"Umm.. Are you free in the afternoon?" He said nervously

"No, I have a meeting for the yearbook. Then Ben is coming over to my place to sleepover, because my mum is out of town and the girls are busy." I replied

"Oh, you and Ben are quite close aye?" He sounded uneasy.

"Yeah, we're kinda like bestfriends I guess"

"Oh,um. Okay" and he tried to smile

After all the classes, it was time for the meeting about the yearbook. I sat next to Mae and she could not shut up about Ben. In the meeting we were told to collect pictures. I was assign to take photos of the students being casual. Okay, thats easy right?

When the meeting was over Ben was waiting for me outside.

"Oh hi Ben" said Mae and she was blushing real bad.

"Hey" he replied.

"Do you have your stuff?" I asked

"Yeah, lets go"

We both took a cab to my house. Ben took a shower first while I tried to finish my homework. We watched tv, ate snacks and we talked. I tried to convince him to ask Mae out but then he just kept changing the subject. Ben walked to the kitchen and started making our dinner. It smelt so good.

He made spaghetti with meatballs and garlic bread. And it tasted so damn good.

"Where did you learn to cook this good?!" I asked.

"Oh, well my mum has a restaurant. I help out and yeah" he scratched his head

"Thats so cool"

Later that night when the dishes were done, the tv was offed and all our homework was done we decided that it was time for bed. It was a bit weird to have a sleepover on a Thursday night. Ben crashed in the living room couches, while I went to sleep in my room.

In the morning I woke up to the sound of someone knocking my front door. I ran down the stairs still wearing my pjs. Ben had just woken up. I checked the time, it was six. When I opened the door Hunter was standing outside, ready for school.

"What are you doing here?"

"Oh, just to pick you guys up" And he gave a big smile. He tried to peek inside.

Ben comes.

"Hey dude, its so early! We were still sleeping" Ben said

"What do you mean by 'we'?! Were you guys sleeping together?" Hunter's eyes were open wide and he looked terrified.

"No, Ben slept on the couch and I slept in my room, just come inside. We still have to get ready"

"Okay. That's good" Hunter smiled.

We stood at the door about five minutes just staring at each other and giving each other goofy smiles.

"You look beautiful" Hunter said even though I look like shit right now.

"Thank you" I responded.

Ben used the guest bathroom while I used my mums. I went downstairs as soon as I was done. Hunter was waiting in the dinning room with our breakfast. Bacon and eggs.

"Wow, you didnt have to" I said happily

Ben came out of the shower shirtless. That boy has abs. I couldnt keep my eyes of his abs, but then I looked away cause it was kinda wrong cause I like Hunter.

"Put on some clothes" Hunter said to Ben.

"Sorry, I forgot my shirt" Ben said and ran to the couch and got his shirt.

We ate our breakfast quietly then went to school.

The car ride to school was so awkward. Hunter drove, I sat at the passenger seat and Ben sat at the back.

"So,um, what did you guys do last night" Hunter asked in a jealous kind of tone.

"Nothing much. We just did our homework and watched some tv together" Ben said.

"Only that? Nothing more?" Hunter asked again.

"Nope" I answered.

"Good, cause Ben if you try to touch or anything, I swear I'll break your bones" Hunter sounded kinda serious. Which was really cute.

"She's not even yours" Ben responded and I saw him roll his eyes in the review mirror.

Hunter didn't say anything but he looked kinda angry and sad at the same time.

Why can't you just ask me out already? I thought to myself and looked at Hunter. He's so attractive.

School was boring today. Most of the teacher were gone because there was this Maths competition going on and they had to take the maths teams. I spent almost the whole day playing cards with the gang except for Annie because she was in the maths team. Then Emily decided that we should play "truth or dare" in one of our free periods.

In the first round Hunter won. I chose dare and he dared me to either kiss the most good looking boy in the group or to tell one of my deepest darkest secrets. I didnt want kiss Hunter, because that would be embarrassing. And i didn't want them to know my darkest secret. So I just stood up, walked to Hunter and gave him a peck on the cheek.

"OHHHHHH" said the others.

And he was blushing. Second round Mae won.

"Ben?" She said

"Truth please" and he smiled

"Is the girl you like in this group?"

"Uh, yes" and he glanced at me.

"James?" Mae said.

"Dareeeee" he responded

"Okay, um. Go give Emily a kiss or something"

James went to Emily and they start making out.

"Hunter?"

"Dare"

"Ummm. I dare you to go to the front of the class and dance. But not just any kind of dance, dont a sexy dance"

I giggled abit. Hunter was booty shaking and all. It was so hilarious.

Later it was my turn.

"Lea?"

"Truth"

"If Hunter were to ask you out what would you say?"

"Uh, yes?" I replied

I was embarrassed.

"Okay, no more playing this game" Ben said

After school Emily and I walked home. When I walked into my house it was dark. I went upstairs and did the usual, shower, homework, tv. At around six o'clock I got a knock on my door. I opened the door and saw Hunter.

"I didnt want you to be alone at home so, yeah" He said.
