-A week after Hunter's funeral-
I got up at six o'clock. Sitting on my bed crying at the thought of Hunter. Is this for real? Is he really gone forever? I stood up and packed all my stuff.
*Knock*
"Who is it?"
"Your mother"
"Oh, come in" I say and I wipe off my tears
"Sigh.." she says as she sits on the edge of my bed.
"Are you really going to stay with Granny and Pops, Lea?"
"Yes mum. I'm sorry but I just cant move in with Andrew. It'll just remind me of Hunter" I respond
"When do you have to board the train?"
"At 5 in the afternoon"
"Oh. My baby, I will miss you so much"
And she gives my several kisses on my forehead. Her eyes were filled with tears and it made mine too.
"Make sure to take care of yourself. Check your bank account every month. I'll be depositing money for you to use, okay? I'll try to visit you when Im not so busy"
"Okay mum"
"Okay, Im busy today. I'll try my best to see you before you leave"
"Just in case you cant make it, I just want to say Thanks"
We hug for a long time and then she leaves for some work thing. I call Emily for us to hang out one last time with the other girls.
"Lea, come to my house as soon as you're done packing, okay?"
And she ends the call.
I get my stuff and walk to Emily's house. It was embarrassing walking around with 3 big bags on a sunny day. When I finally get to Emily's place I text her to tell her to come out. It would be awkward to knock or ring the bell.
"Hey! Come in!" she pulls one of my arms and drags me in.
As I walked inside and saw Mae and Annie were sitting down eating chips and talking. When they saw me walking in they stop talking and walk up to me.
"Why do you have to leave?" Annie says while hugging me.
"I will.. Uh miss you" said Mae and she tried to smile
"When do you have to leave?" Emily says
"Five, dont worry its just nine o'clock! We have lots of time to chill" I say
We talked, joked around, ate snacks, gossipped and cried a little. It was nice.
-After a few hours-
"Awww... Do you really have to go? Its just 4!" Emily wailed
"It takes about half an hour to get to the train station" I reply
"Make sure to text us when you get to your grandparent's place!" said Mae
"I get there in 6 hours, but yeah okay"
I gave them all hugs for the last time and went in the cab. The driver looked annoyed.
When I got to the train station I quickly went to the check-in area and to give my ticket. As I was waiting at the line there was a commotion going on at the ticket booth which was at the back. It was loud. Someone wanted a ticket or something.
When it was finally my turn I gave my ticket and went on the train. Everytime a person walked into the train I prayed that they wont choose to sit next to me so that I can use the other seat to sleep.
The train was about to depart, the train looked kind of full and the seat next to me was still empty so I just rest my head on the window peacefully. I later on wake up to find myself sleeping on someone's shoulder. When I realised this I drew my head away and look up to see if it was a man or a lady. But it was too dark and it seemed like everyone was asleep.
"Hahaha. Dont worry Lea"
This voice was so famillar. And then I clicked and realised.
"What are you doing here, Ben?"
