The Truth... Pt:2

Lilly cont.:

Yousef sat down next to me and tried to give me a kiss but I managed to turn my head fast enough so that he kissed my cheek. He looked at me and raised his eyebrow but didn't say anything. Good. I was about to question Yousef about the picture I received but then Arial came running towards him giving him a big hug. She begged him to play with her and jasmine and he agreed. I guess I'll have to question him later.

By 7:30pm I was worn out. I cleaned around the house and tidied up a few things to keep myself busy. I never got the chance to talk to Yousef and ask him about the picture. He was either playing with Arial or in his office with Simmi working on a project. At this point I was debating whether I should say something or just keep my mouth shut. Did I really want to know the truth? You know what they say what you don't know can never hurt you right? I'll just have to keep a close eye on him 👀

* 4 weeks later*

Yousef:

It's been a while and I haven't received any threatening messages but that doesn't mean I stay cautious when I go out or when Lilly and Arial go out. I still had Ali's friend, Amar, work on finding who sent that message and he said he was getting close.

It's been a long, hard, few weeks. I haven't been able to go out with Lilly or Arial so whoever is watching me won't be able to connect the dots, or at least I hope they won't. I know Lilly is starting to get frustrated at my behavior and I don't blame her. But I can't stop now, we're so close to finding who this person is and what they want. All I pray is that I can find this bastard and make sure he never lays a finger on my family, is that too much to ask for?

Lilly:

That's it I'm sick and tired of this. Yousef I give you your damn space and I tried to not let your behavior affect me but god I can't take this anymore! Even Arial is noticing how he's trying to separate himself from us. I can't remember the last time we all went out together as a family and just had a good time. Lately it's been only me and Arial, Yousef would always make an excuse not to come. Is he seeing Alycia while we go out?!

Oh, hell nawh he better not be bringing no side her into our damn house! You know what I tried keeping my mouth shut and let him tell me the truth whenever he's ready but it seems like he aint ever ganna be ready. It's time to confront this man

I walked into Yousef's office and closed the door behind me. Arial was taking a nap so that she can stay up a little past her bed time to go trick or treating tonight and I wouldn't want to wake her. Yousef looked up from his screen when he heard the door close. He looked confused and I probably look mad as a bull.

"We have to talk" I said calmly

"Um. Okay... Why'd you close the door though?" Yousef asked confusingly

"Because I don't want to wake Arial up just in case we raise our voice" I said

"Why would we raise our voices? Is there something wrong babe" he said as he came to stand in front of me

"Oh, don't you dare babe me. You know damn well what's wrong. And I know the truth so it's time for you to come clean" I said raising my tone a little bit

"Come clean? About what? I haven't done nothing wrong" he said taking a step back away from me

"That's the thing you've done nothing ever since that day you supposedly went and got Simmi so she can help you work"

"I've done plenty since then! Just cause your busy and can't seem to find a balance between work and being a mom doesn't mean I'm the same" he said snapping at me
