Chapter 16

Clarke's pov
Finn and I are returning to Abby and Raven. Abby hugs Me
"Bellamy, Giselle and Octavia?" I ask wondering if they have returned
"They know the rendezvous here." Mum said
"Well have you tried to radio?" I asked
"Still jammed." Raven said
"You didn't blow the tower." I said
"Raven found a way that we could listen to Mount Weather. If we took out the antenna we wouldn't be able to do that." Abby said
"What about the other Ark stations?" I asked
"We don't know if they made it, what we do know is that 47 of our people are being held prisoner in that mountain. We're gonna get them out." Abby said I hug her again

Ravens pov
I walk over to Finn.
"I'm sorry." He said
"We all have battle scars Finn, suck it up and build a brace for yours." I said

Abby's pov
"Help!" A voice yelled
"Stay here Chancellor!" One of the guards said to me
"Help me!" The person said again
"Show us your hands." A guard says the person puts his hands up.
"Thelonious." I said recognising him Jaha falls onto his knees.
"I have a message from the commander. Leave or die, we have two days." Jaha said

"There has to be another way." I said
"There's not. The Commander's message was clear: leave or die. We have sixteen hours." Jaha said
"You think we should just give up." I asked
"This is not our home. It's theirs. Because Kane went looking for peace, he has given us a chance to move on without bloodshed." Jaha said
"And where's Marcus now? Imprisoned still? You're just going to leave him there? Like the kids in Mount Weather? If we run, who's going to rescue them?" I said
"You weren't there, Abby. I saw them. Warriors trained since childhood to fight and die for their cause. As we speak, they are marching on this camp. And trust me when I tell you, the right choice is to live, so that we can come back and fight another day."Jaha said
"Ma'am, sir. The people are on edge. Word from their Chancellor could go a long way." Major Byrne
"Of course." Jaha said
"Unfortunately, sir, Doctor Griffin is still in command until a vote can be taken, or you willingly transfer your authority." Major Byrne said turning to me.
"What're you waiting for?" Jaha said
"I'm not ready to march our people into the desert, Thelonious. Not until we try to find another way." I said With conviction
"We'll talk to them together." I said walking outside to talk to the people.
"By now, you've all heard the rumor. And unfortunately, it's true. The Grounders are coming. We have a difficult decision to make. Thankfully, Chancellor Jaha has found his way back to us, and we are discussing all options." I said
"But to be safe, you need to pack. Now. Whatever you can carry. We may need to leave at a moment's notice." Jaha said
"Where will we go?" A man in the crowd asked.
"I don't know, is the answer. But I heard of a place...a city of light. It's across the Dead Zone." Jaha said
"What makes you think we'll make it there?" The man said
"Because we made it here. I have faith. And right now, given the alternative, that's good enough for me." Jaha said
"Not for us. If we leave here, what happens to our people in Mount Weather?" Clarke said Surging forward
"As your mother said, that is a very difficult decision to make. But the time has come for each and every one of us to ask, "Is this how the story of our people ends? Did we come all this way just to die tomorrow?" Because if we're not gone, by the time that sun rises, that is exactly what will happen." Jaha  said
"No decision's been made. In the meantime, please report to your station supervisor, and gather emergency supplies." I said

Bellamy's pov
"Hey. Where have you been?" Clarke asked my as I walked up to her
"In the dropship. You need to come back with me right now." I said
"Why? What's happened?" Clarke asked
"I'll explain on the way. Bring your med kit; meet me at Raven's gate." I said once we enter the dropship I see a shocked look on Clarke's face seeing Giselle and octavia with Lincoln
"It's okay, it's okay. He's been restrained." I said
"I can't believe we're back here again." Clarke said talking about the time I tortured Lincoln
"Can you help him?" Octavia asked sounding exhausted.
"I don't know. I knew Mount Weather controlled the Reapers... I had no idea they were creating them." Clarke said
"If they can do that to Lincoln, what're they doing to our friends?" I said
