Chapter 31

Emersons pove
"Okay. Activated. She's live." I said talking about the missile
"Whitman, are you in position? Over." Cage asked
"Affirmative, sir. Confirming target coordinates now. Over."
Clarkes pov
"Clarke, we have to keep moving. We're not far enough away. The last time they used a missile, it was before I was born. According to legend, it left a hole in the woods you could not see across. Now let's go." Lexa said
"What if we made them miss?" I said
"You're not listening. With a weapon like that, you can't miss."
"Yes, you can. I heard them talking about a spotter, someone in the field to aim the missile. If we could just find him." I said
"No. What's she doing here?"
"Clarke, you can't go back. Clarke!" Lexa said
Cages pov
"North thirty-eight degrees, fifty-four minutes, point two-five seconds. By West seventy-seven degrees, two minutes, point one-two seconds. Over." Whitman said "We're locked in." Emerson said
"Standing by for confirmation."

Clarkes pov
"Mom, what are you doing here? I told you to stay back at camp." I said
"Enough, Clarke. I'm the Chancellor. I don't need your permission to go--"
"No. We have to leave now." I said
What is going on?" Abby asked
"We can't be here. Mom, I am begging you. Please. Come on."
Kane's pov
"Where's the Commander? Where's Clarke?" Indra asked
"I don't know. Last time I saw them, they were heading downstairs." I said
"They're not there now." Indra said
"We should search the woods." I said
"I agree."

Emerson
"Final targets confirmed. We are go for launch."
"On your command, sir." I said
"Fire." Cage said
"Bird is in the air. Impact in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, Five, four, three, two, one." I said

Clarkes pov
"Mom. Mom, are you okay? Oh, my God. Come on. We can't be here. We-- we have to go." I said
"You knew. You knew, and you let this happen?" Abby said
"We had no choice." I said
"So many people. Our people." Abby said
"No. We had to protect Bellamy. Without him--"
"Oh, stop it! I don't want to hear it."
"Mom..."
"Tell me this was Lexa. Please, Clarke. Please tell me this wasn't you."
"I wish I could. You can't tell anyone about this. If anyone finds out that we knew, the alliance of the twelve clans will break. We'll lose the war."
"You crossed the line."
"Mom."
"Their blood is on your hands, and even if we win, I'm afraid you won't be able to wash it off this time. Don't worry. Your secret is safe with me."

Jaspers pov
"What's taking Bellamy so long?" Monty asked
"I don't know." I said
"Maybe they caught him." Miller said
"No. He'll figure a way out, I know he will." I said
"Jasper, it's already been four hours. The guards will be back any second." Miller said
"They're gonna take someone else." Harped said
"No. Listen to me. Everyone, we stick to the plan. They're not taking anyone else out of this room without a fight!" I said as the door buzzed and opened.
"Get ready." I said
"Disperse." The guard said
"This one." Dr. Tsing said picking a person again
"No. No! Hey! Get your hands off him!" I said
"Enough! Don't move!" A guard said
"Take him instead." Dr. Tsing said pointing to another one of us
"No, you can't!" He said I swung my knife to protect him but the guards got me to the floor
"Get up." The guard said
"No!" I said
"Search the rest. Make sure there are no other weapons." Dr.tsing said

Bellamy's pov
"Bellamy. You got to pull the outside air in to reverse the air filtration system." Raven said through the radio.
"Just tell me how we know if it's even working." Bellamy asked. Then we heard a voice on the P.A system "Containment breach."
"I'd say it's working." Giselle said smiling.
"Thank you, Mr. President." Bellamy said

Jaspers pov
"Lets go! This is our chance! Everybody move! Take the level! Monty, get the cameras. Miller, get their guns. Go!" I said
"No. You can't." Dr.tsing said
"I hope you know that you're incredibly special to us." I said quoting her

Cages pov
"Who helped them? Who helped them?" I asked
"I don't know what you're talking about."President Wallace said
"You still have influence, people who believe in you, and one of them irradiated level five today. I want to know who it is." I said
"It was me." He responded
"Well, you and whoever helped you killed eleven of our people today, and for what? We're gonna retake their level soon enough." I said
"Get out of my sight, Cage."
"I know we disagree... but this will all be over soon. I bombed Tondc today." I said
"My father installed that silo to protect us, Cage." President Wallace said
"Why can't you see that that is exactly what I'm trying to do? With Clarke and the Commander dead, the savages can go back to killing each other, and then we can retake the ground." I said
"And it only cost you your souls!"
"He's ready." I said to the guards
"What are you doing?" President Wallace asked
"Freeing you. Restrain him. Easy, easy. Do not hurt him. The marrow kicks in in forty-eight hours. You'll thank me someday." I said.

Third person
A horrified Clarke looks at the ruins caused the missile on Tondc. Tondc is in ruins because of missile, many are dead and the injured are being tended to.
"I could've warned them. I could've saved them." Clarke said
If they see us they'll strike again. Victory stands on the back of sacrifice." Lexa said
"I want the Mountain Men dead, all of them." Clarke said
