Chapter 43

Giselle's pov
"Damn it." Raven said
"What happened to that Raven Reyes confidence?" Sinclair said
"It's a 12-digit code. There are a trillion combinations. It's gonna take me a minute." Raven said
"Giselle, what do you got?" Sinclair said
"Don't look at me." I said
"h, come on, guys. It's gonna be dark soon. We're working analog. We're working digital. What are we missing?" Sinclair said
"How is the president gonna remember a number that long?" I asked
"Not well." Raven said
"Want to bet he wrote it down somewhere?" I said
"Oh, come on. That's like setting the launch codes all zeros." Raven said
"And yet it's better than anything we've come up with." Sinclair said
"I'll check the president's office." I said. Sinclair tosses me a radio
"We'll keep working the tech angle. Hopefully, one of us'll get lucky." Sinclair said
"Like that's ever happened." Raven said
"Have a little positivity raven" I said

Bellamy's pov
Pike, Octavia, Echo and I arrive at Polis' entrance
"Where are the guards? Protocol would be to leave someone behind." I said
"They did." Octavia said pointing to the dead people
"This was your people." Pike said
"Screw you!" Echo said
"Hey, she warned us. This proves she was telling the truth." Octavia said
"We don't have time for this. The attack is at sundown." I said
"I'm not leaving my blade here." Octavia said
"None of us are. We go in through the tunnels. The entrance is this way." Echo said
Abby's pov
"The sun is going down. Where's Lexa?" I asked
"She'll be here soon." Kane said. Clarke comes through the door and I rush to hug her.
"I have something to tell you, and we don't have much time." Clarke said
"We'll have plenty of time to catch up once we get back home." Kane said
"The Commander's changing the terms of the summit." Clarke said
"Is this because of Mount Weather?" Kane asked
"This is because of the Ice Nation. They want Lexa dead. They want to take over the coalition." Clarke said
"That's Lexa's concern, not ours." I said
"No, Abby. If Lexa falls, the Coalition shatters, and there's no way we avoid that war. You said there were new terms." Kane said
"We become the 13th Clan." Clarke said
" 13th Clan? What does that mean, that we follow Lexa?" I asked
"Yes." Clarke said
"We came here to negotiate a treaty." I said
"This is our unity day, Mom. You can be the 13th station, or you can be the 13th Clan." Clarke said
"I've seen the Ice Nation army, and we don't stand a chance against them. We need to do this." Kane said
"So we become the 13th Clan. Then what? What's gonna stop the Ice Nation?" I asked
"Wanheda." Clarke said

Bellamy's pov
"How much further?" I asked
"We're almost there. The elevator shaft is just ahead." Echo said

Ice Nation assassin
"For my father. For my mother. For my mother. For my kin."

Bellamy's pov
"How many floors?" I asked
"All of them." Echo said

Clarkes pov
"We welcome Skaikru to our halls in the spirit of friendship and harmony, and we welcome Clarke kom Skaikru... Legendary Wanheda, Mountain Slayer. The reason for this summit has changed. We are not here to negotiate a treaty with the Skaikru, but rather to initiate hem into the coalition.To symbolize this union, the leader of Skaikru must bear our mark." Lexa said
"The honor should be yours." Abby said to Kane
"Present your arm." Lexa said. They burn the mark on to Kane's arm and Bellamy, Pike, and Octavia barge into the room with guns
"Bellamy?" I questioned
"What is the meaning of this?" Titus asked
"The summit's a trap. We need to get you out of here." Bellamy said
"What the hell is going on?" I asked
"I don't know." Lexa said
"It's the Ice Nation." Bellamy said
"These allegations are an outrage. The Ice Nation never stormed this summit with weapons, breaking our laws. That was the Skaikru." A grounder said
"We're right about this. The two guards you left behind are dead already. We need to go now." Pike said
"How did you come by this information?" Lexa asked
"Where the hell is Echo?" Octavia asked

Ravens pov
"I tried everything, still completely locked out of the missile system. They had impressive security. I'll give them that." Sinclair said
"This is useless. I'm better with hydrazine and gunpowder. I give up. We're too late, anyway. It's already dark." I said
"Raven... The Raven Reyes I know doesn't give up." Sinclair said
"She does now." I said
"No, she doesn't. Have you talked to Abby?" Sinclair said
"About what?"
"Raven, come on. You're not fooling anyone."
"I'm not trying to."
"If this machine was broken and you knew there was a way to fix it, would you not do it because it might be hard? Why the resistance? You think you deserve this pain, that this is your cross to bear for your mom or Finn, for all you've been through. It's not. You deserve more, and with the medical equipment in this building, Abby can help you. Let her."
"What if she can't? What if I'm just broken?"
"I took a chance on a zero-g mechanic with a heart defect. Why don't you take a chance on her, too?"
"Giselle to Raven. Come in." Giselle said over the radio
"Go for Raven." I said
"I got nothing, no launch codes. I guess our luck is still holding."
"Ok. Keep looking. I'll do the same."
Third person
The assassin appears behind Giselle and stabs her
"Giselle? Giselle? Giselle, are you there?" Raven said over the radio
The assassin cuts the president's table open to reveal a code pad
"Giselle, do you copy?" Raven said. The assassin reveal some numbers written on his arm and types them in. The countdown is set for 1 minute
"Giselle, what's going on? Giselle, are you ok? Giselle." Raven said over the radio
"Raven, we've got a problem. A Grounder set off a self-destruct sequence. He has the codes on his arm. You have to get them." Giselle said weakly into the radio. Sinclair runs after the assassin. Raven tries to follow with her leg
"How much time, Giselle?" Raven asked
"45 seconds, Raven." Giselle said. They chase him outside and the assassin and Sinclair have a fight. The assassin was about to kill Sinclair before Rave shoots him dead
"Get the numbers on his arm. Giselle, Giselle we got the code. Giselle, do you copy? Giselle, do yo copy?" Raven asked as Giselle breathes her last breath.
"Got to go back in there." Raven said
"No. Raven, no!" Sinclair said
"We can't just let them die." Raven said. The explosion occurs and all the people inside are killed. Raven and Sinclair are blasted back

"What's going on? Where the hell is she?" Bellamy asked
"Bellamy, maybe we were wrong about this." Octavia said
"I don't understand." Bellamy said
"Stand down."Kane said and takes the gun from Bellamy
"Bellamy, Bellamy, come in. The Grounders attacked Mount Weather." Raven said over the radio
"What are you talking about?" Bellamy said to raven
"It's gone. It's gone. They're all gone. Sinclair and I are the only ones left. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." Raven said
"You should have never moved your people back into Mount Weather. The Ice Nation did what Lexa was too weak to do." A grounder said
"This is an act of war. Sentries, arrest the Ice Nation delegation, including the prince." Lexa said
"We need to get home. If they attacked Mount Weather, Arkadia could be next." Abby said
"I agree." Kane said
"Go. Marshal your forces. We'll avenge the attack together." Lexa said
"I'll escort them. I hope you kept up your training. You'll need it." Indra said
"Clarke, we need to leave now." Bellamy said with a heart broken look in his eyes.
"We need an ambassador from the 13th Clan to stay here in Polis." Lexa said
"It's not safe here." Bellamy said
"Clarke will be safe here under my protection." Lexa said
"I have to stay. I have to make sure she keeps her word." Clarke said
"Be safe." Kane said to Clarke
"You, too." Clarke said
"She left us to die on that mountain. She will always put her people first. You should come home to yours." Bellamy said
"I'm sorry." Clarke said
"Giselle was in the mountain" Bellamy said walking away from Clarke with tears in his eyes.
