Chapter 42

Bellamy's pov
" We're losing her." I said
"Relax. Save your energy." Kane said
"Kane's right, son. The army will move soon. You'll need your strength for what comes next." Pike said
"You want to tell Giselle we found her sister and just let her walk away?" I said to Kane
"We'll find Clarke" Kane said

Monty's pov
"I need to know what happened. Please." I said sitting next to my mum
"We landed in the snow. Your father said it absorbed some of the impact. That's why we survived. The snow looked so beautiful, it- Charles?" Hannah said
"The children were playing in it. They were the first to die. Fifteen of them. If not for your father, would've been more. He pulled four kids back into the ship. All four alive today. They got him when he went back for the fifth. Your father died a hero, Monty. We've been fighting Grounders ever since." Pike said
"That was the Ice Nation. Not all Grounders are the same." Kane said
"They are to me." Pike said

Jaspers pov
I am frantically digging through the gallery for the painting Maya showed me. I throws and breaks stuff before it falls into my lap. I stand it up and sit in front of it. Giselle comes in and quietly sits cross-legged beside me.
"Hey." She said
"I'm fine. This was her favorite. Represents the second circle of Hell, which is pretty ironic if you think about it. I told her I liked it, but I don't know. I miss her." Jasper said Giselle puts her arm around me and rests her head on my shoulder.
"It'll get better." Giselle said
"When?" Jasper asked
"I don't know, but I know it will" giselle said

bellamys pov
I stripped one of the Azgeda scouts and snuck out, all without anyone noticing. Now I wander through the army. I follow the direction Clarke and Roan went and see Roan's blood trail go down some steps. I go down the steps and see Clarke tied up.
"I'll get you out of here." i said to her
"Look out!" Clarke said, Roan's got the jump on me and has me flat on my back with a knife to his throat.
"Oh please, please don't. I'll do anything, I'll stop fighting. Just please don't kill him." clarke said. Roan stabs me in the leg and then kicks me in the chin.
"Don't follow us." roan said

"Bellamy! He's hurt!" monty said seeing me
"We told you to wait for the army to move." Kane said
" I almost got her." I said
"Pike, find their trail." Kane said
"It's useless. He knows he's being followed now." Pike said
"Hey. You can't even walk." Kane said
"So what, we give up? Let him kill her?" I said
"I want to find her too, but look at your leg. You could die out here. We have no trail." Kane said
"We can't lose Clarke. We can't lose her." I said
"We'll find her, Okay, we will figure something out, I promise. But this isn't the way." Monty said I throw an arm over Monty's shoulder as we turn around.
"I got you, now, come on." Monty said
"Let's head back." Kane said

Clarkes pov
"Wanheda, as promised." Roan said and removed the bag from my head, Instead of seeing the Ice Queen, I see Lexa.
"Hello, Clarke." Lexa said. Lexa pulls the gag from my mouth.
"It had to be this way. I had to ensure Wanheda didn't fall into the hands of the Ice Queen. War is brewing, Clarke. I need you." Lexa said
"You bitch. You wanted the Commander of Death, you got her. I'll kill you. No!" I said as I was dragged away

Kane's pov
"We're at the Polis city limits. From here, we go on foot. Lexa's guards will be here soon. All guns and radios stay in the truck. Her people will escort us to the summit. What is that?" I asked
"It's a med kit." A guard said
"A med kit from Mount Weather, the place where thousands of their people were killed. You can't bring this into Polis." I said
"Don't take it out on him. If you're gonna be mad, be mad at me." Abby said
"Moving people into Mount Weather puts our entire agenda at risk. You knew that, and you did it, anyway. Opening a hospital is one thing. Moving Farm Station survivors in is another. Now we have to explain, taking attention away from everything else we've been negotiating for... lifting Lincoln's kill order, opening trade routes, getting Clarke back. I shouldn't have said that. Clarke's not a bargaining chip." I said

Giselle's pov
A truck stops in front of Mount Weather's entrance
"Ohh, I knew I should've taken my horse." Octavia said
"Hey... The summit delegation will be fine." I said to bellamy
"I should be there." Bellamy said
"Then you wouldn't be here with me." I said kissing his cheek
"You make a good argument." Bellamy said
"Besides, as soon as your leg heals, you'll be right back out there." I said
"My leg's fine. Kane's trying to teach me a lesson." Bellamy said
"You guys, did I ever tell you how I saved Sinclair's ass on the Ark?" Raven said
"Please don't." Octavia said
"You mean the time you went rogue on a space walk?" I asked
"That depends on your definition of "going rogue."" Raven said
"Really?" I said
"I just hopped on a robotic arm and aimed it at the solar array. The whole time I was out there, the control room thought I was just fixing a loose wire." Raven said
"That is, in fact, the definition of "going rogue." You dangled yourself within inches of an electrified array hat could've killed you." I said
"Only time I ever heard Sinclair lose his cool on commas."
"So how long were you benched?"
"Benched? I got the job done in record time. He promoted me. What can I say? Sinclair thinks I can do no wrong." Raven said. Bellamy, Raven, Octavia and I walk to the dining room. Pike looks up from his seat and walks to us
"Welcome. Come. Join us." Pike said
"Someone's made themselves at home." Raven said
"There must be 30 of them in here." Octavia said
"36, but the more, the merrier." Pike said
" 36? Wow. The Grounders are gonna think we moved in." Octavia
"Well, there was no room at the inn"
"And this is your option?" Octavia said
"O..." Bellamy said
"I'm out of here." Octavia said
"Spirited." Pike said
"Yeah." Bellamy said
"Reyes, you're 3 hours late. We've got no power to medical, fluctuations on levels 2 and 3, and blown fuses all over the place. Get on it." Sinclair said
"You can do no wrong, huh?" I said
"Shut up" raven said pushing me slightly

Bellamy's pov
"This is such a mistake. The Grounders will never accept it." Octavia said
"We're not the Mountain Men, O. Nyko, and Lincoln will make them see that." I said
"How? Lincoln has a kill order on him? He can't even leave camp without risking his life." Octavia said
"The summit will take care of that." I said. 2 men bring a Grounder into view
"Echo?" I said
"You know her?" Octavia asked
"Yeah. She's Ice Nation. She was in the cage next to mine." I said
"Bellamy!" Echo said
"Let her go." I said to the men holding her
"She threatened the summit." One of them said
"I was trying to help." Echo said
"I said get your hands off her." I said. Octavia removes the cuffs from Echo
"What are you doing? She's a Grounder." The man said
"What are you talking about?" Bellamy
"The summit's a trap. The assassin is already there. By sundown, your people will die. I was with the queen's army heading toward Polis. The war chief talks too loud." Echo said.

Giselle's pov
"Pike, she saved my life. We can trust her. Listen up. Ok. If we want to get to Polis before the attack, we have to move." Bellamy said
"Attack? Do we have confirmation of that? We radioed, but no answer." Sinclair asked
"They may already be dead, for all we know, and if they are, we need to be ready to respond." Pike said
"Don't make this about the missiles." Sinclair said
"This is about survival. We don't have the numbers, but the missiles in this mountain even the playing field, and you know I'm right." Pike said
"Even if I did agree with you, we still don't have the launch codes." Sinclair said
"No, but we have me and raven" I said
"And you accuse engineers of arrogance?" Sinclair said
"We're growing as a people." Raven said
"Let's go." Pike said
"You should stay here, help them get hose missiles ready to launch." Bellamy said to me. I lean up a kiss him.
"Don't do anything stupidly heroic." I said
"Garden-variety heroic. You got it." Bellamy said smiling as I kissed him again
