Chapter 26

Clarkes pov
I am walking through the woods when I notice Quint with a bow and arrow.
"Not so brave now are you, Skygirl?" Quint said
I watch the woods and sees an arrow hit the tree were I was just standing near. I see Quint again, he's hoisted his weapon and is ready to shoot once more. I run as Quint continues shooting.

Kane's pov
Grounders are doing hand to hand combat outside. Kane is watching with Octavia.
"Impressive, aren't they? What doesn't kill them makes them stronger." I said
"I am. We're supposed to train together right?" Octavia asked
"Only warriors train here." Indra said
"I saved your life." Octavia said
"And now I'm saving yours. You, attack!" Indra said

Major Byrne pov
Clarke is running away from Quint. She sees someone in the distance and raises her gun. She lowers it realizing the person is Byrne.
"Byrne, thank god! Quint-" I heard Clarkes voice I turned around and Clarke can see my left arm has been severed.
"Save yourself." I said with my last breath.

Kane's pov
Indra is watching her warriors fight while I watch the Guards practice shooting.
" Easy. Control your breathing. Squeeze the trigger, don't pull it." I said
"Sir, we've got an audience."
I look behind me to see grounders watching.
"Hold your fire." I said
"Would you like to try. I could teach you, your enemy has guns. So should you." I said to the grounder
"Penn, stand down! You know better" Indra yelled as Penn was about to touch the gun
"It's alright, I offered." I said
"We don't need your weapons. Back to training all of you!" Indra shouted
"Guns could keep them alive. It's like they're afraid of them." I said
"They are. Legend has it if a grounder picks a gun even to shoot another grounder, Mount Weather will wipe out their entire village. Can't have your blood supply defending themselves right?" Octavia said to me.
"They're unarmed. We can't win."I said
"Like hell we can't." Octavia said
"We don't know enough about these people." I said
"She sure seems to." The guard said referring to Octavia

Clarkes pov
I am still running before I am tackled by Quint.
"For my brother!" Quint said He prepares to stab me before Lexa throws a knife into his hand.
"Attack her and you attack me." Lexa said
"Thank you." I said
"Where's your guard?" Lexa asked
"He killed her." I said
"She lies. My fight is only with her." Quint said
"The kill is yours Clarke." Lexa said. I prepare to fire before hearing a strange noise.
"What is that?" I asked
"Pauna." Lexa responded stabbing Quint in the leg leaving him as bait.
"Run!" She said to me
"We need to hide! This way, I found something." I yelled we enter and find bones and human remains.
"What is this place?" I asked
"It's her feeding ground." Lexa said
"Let's go." I said
We climb up trying to find a way out. The Pauna jumps into the feeding ground and sees Lexa's guard. He begins eating it and throws the body. I fire my gun towards it but no damage is done. I fire again knocking the creature down, the Pauna comes back up to attack us. We run before jumping into a pit but Lexa injures her leg during the fall.
"Leave me!" Lexa said
"No way!" I said

Murphys pov
Jaha and I are walking towards the dropship to find the graveyard.
"I don't know everything that happened before a got down here but I do know something what you're feeling son." Jaha said
"Don't call me that. I'm nobody's son, you made sure of that." I said
"I remember your father.'" Jaha said
"Yeah right."
"Alex Murphy, convicted of theft of rationed medicine. He stole it to take care of you. I remember them all." Jaha said
"We're here. Home sweet home. Graveyard's this way." I said

Giselle's pov
Bellamy, Lincoln and I are making our way to the Mount Weather Mines.
"Come on, let's do this." Bellamy said

Murphys pov
Jaha is kneeling before his son's grave.
"Are we about done? We got to be heading back." I said
"How well did you know him?" Jaha asked
"Well enough to be hung for his murder. Clarke sugarcoated it for you didn't she?" I said
"What happened to my son?"
"Twelve-year-old girl stabbed him in the neck with a knife she took from me." I said
"Why would she do that?"
"She couldn't kill you. Yeah, so you got a lot of blood on your hands, Chancellor. Every single one of them including your son would still be alive if you hadn't sent us down here." I said
"If I didn't send you, they would've died on the Ark with the rest of us and we would've never known that Earth was survivable. Their sacrifice is why were are here. Good can come out of even the darkest acts, John." Jaha said
"Camp you is that way." I said
"We'll rest at the dropship for a while." Jaha said
"Suit yourself." I muttered

Octavias pov
"Enough! Enough! I hope you've saved some energy for a hunt. I'm told our hosts have no food." Indra said
"Room for one more?" I asked
"Step aside, Skygirl. We're hungry." Indra said
"Make me." I said
"Fio, give this girl what she wants." Indra said. I prepare to attack Fio.
"Let's do this." I said
We begin fighting. Fio easily overcomes Me knocking me down.
"Hey you gonna give up that easily?" I said getting up
"She wants more. Oblige her." Indra said we continue fighting and he knocks me down once more.
"Indra, stop this." Kane said
"Finish it." Indra said I get knocked down once more and Fio turns to the other grounders as I rise again ready to attack but he takes me down again.
"Enough, even a fool knows when to surrender." Indra said
"I got you." Kane said pulling me to my feet
"I got you. What are you trying to prove?" Kane asked
"What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." I said
