Chapter 19

Clarkes pov
I am returning to from speaking with Lexa.
"Hold your fire! She's back! Open the gate. " I heard Bellamy's voice yell.
"You ok? " Finn asked me.
"Shut the gate. You can't be out here. " I said directing the last part at Finn.
"What did she say? Is there a chance for a truce? " Abby asked
"Yes. " I said
"What's wrong? " Finn asked
"They want you. If we want a truce, we have to give them Finn. " I said
"What the hell are you talking about? " raven asked.
"That's their offer. " I said
"That's not an offer. " raven said
"It's punishment. For what happened at the village. Blood for blood. " Finn said.
"That's insane. " bellamy said
"If we refuse? " Abby asked
"They attack. " I said
" I Say we give him up! Get rid of him. " a man shouts as we tell people what happened "Easy, people. " major Byrne said
"Give him to the Grounders. " another shouts
"Back off! " raven shouted
"Hey, Raven, Raven. Raven, listen to me. Nothing is gonna happen to him. I promise, ok? " Clarke said
"I'm not dying for him. Spacewalker burned 3 months of oxygen from the Ark. We should've floated him a long time ago. Throw him out! " griff said
"Back off! " raven said again
"Stop, Raven! " Major Byrne said Raven punches Major Byrne in the face and grabbed gets from behind by guards.
"Let me go. " raven yells.

Flashback to the ark
"External airlock pressure tolerances can be adjusted... " Finn asked
"At the manual feed stem. Ask me a hard one. " raven responded
"You've answered all of these, like, 10 times. " Finn said talking about the flash card he had in his hands.
"I have to go over this stuff. " raven said
"You're running fluid dynamic specs while we're having sex. I think you've been over it. " Finn said
"Multitasking. " raven said
"So, what do you want to do for your birthday? " Finn asked
"Honestly... I just want to pass. " raven said
"That's it? " Finn asked
"Move up to Zero-G so I don't have to spend the rest of my life trapped inside this tin can? That'd be enough. Yeah. " raven said
"Well, I got you something. Made it, actually" Finn said. He takes out a raven pendant and hands it to her.
"It's a raven." Raven said
"I thought it might bring you luck. For your test. Do you like it?" Finn asked Raven smiles and kisses Finn in response.

Bellamy's Pov
"Hey, man. Byrne actually gave me a gun. I guess we really are screwed, huh? Look, we kicked their asses last time. We'll do it again. " murphy said
"A lot of people died last time. " Finn said in response
"Hey. We're reinforcing all defenses. Doubles on the perimeter. No one's getting past that wire. " I said
"I'll see where they're thin. " Finn said
"No. You should head inside. B corridor will be easier to defend if it comes to that. " I said
"I'm not gonna hide. " Finn said
"Right now, we have to think about keeping you safe. I'm gonna talk to Lincoln. " Clarke said
"Come on. Finn. " I said

Clarke's pov
"Hey. Any orders for me, princess? " murphy asked me
"Stay away from me. " I said
"Just trying to be helpful. " murphy said
"You were with him at the village. " I said
" yeah so was Giselle. We tried to stop him." Murphy said
"Not hard enough. " I said
"You know, you want to start blaming people, Clarke? He was out there looking for you. " murphy said Lincoln is in medical bay. He is handcuffed to a bed. I walk in and away from murphy.
"He's not a Reaper anymore. He doesn't need to be restrained. " I said
"Yes, I do. " Lincoln said
"Just tell us. Is there a way to make peace? " Abby asked
"Did she leave riders behind? " Lincoln asked
"Two just outside the gate. " Abby said
"They're waiting for Finn. You don't have much time to decide. " Lincoln said
"She can't expect us to just hand over one of our own people. Would she do that? " octavia asked
"She wouldn't let the rest of her people die to protect a murderer. If you don't do this, she will kill everyone in this camp. " Lincoln said
"Way to be enthusiastic" Giselle said sarcastically
"There has to be something else that we can offer. " Abby said
"Finn took 18 lives. The commander's offering to take just one in return. Take the deal." Lincoln said
"How can you say that? Finn was the first person to come to you to offer peace. He's your friend. " I said
"He massacred my village. Some of the dead were my friends, too. " Lincoln said
"But that wasn't Finn. You know that's not who he is. " I said
"It is now. We've all got a monster inside of us, Clarke, and we're all responsible for what it does when we let it out. " Lincoln said
"He's right Clarke, Finn made his choice and now he has to deal with the consequences" Giselle said.
"What will they do to him? " Abby asked
"Fire. Because he killed the innocent, it starts with fire. " Lincoln said
"Starts? " I asked
"They'll take his hands. His tongue, his eyes. And anyone who grieves will have a turn with the knife. At sunrise, the commander will end it with her sword. But I've never known anyone to survive until the sword. He killed 18, he will suffer the pain of 18 deaths. Then we can have peace. " Lincoln said
"Ok so maybe don't give him up" Giselle said wincing at what Lincoln said.
