Chapter 37

Octavias pov
"We found it." I said
"You found it. It appears we didn't need Lincoln after all." Indra said
"Thank you."
"You've done well, Octavia."
"What does that mean?"
"What do you think it means?"
"I think I want to hear you say it."
"You're one of us now." Indra said
Clarke's POV
"They'll be waiting just inside the door." I said
"Good." Lincoln said
" Train your fire on the door." I said
"Pull! Pull! Again! Pull!" Lincoln said pulling the door finally getting it open
"Attack now!" I said
"Stand Down" Alexa said
"What is this?" I asked
"Hey, look! They're coming out!" A grounder yelled
"They're surrendering?" I said
" Not quite." Emerson said
"What did you do?" I asked
"What you would have done. Saved my people." Lexa said
"Where are my people?" I asked
"I'm sorry, Clarke. They weren't part of the deal." Lexa said
"You made the right choice, Commander." Emerson said
"What is this?" Lincoln said
"Your commander's made a deal." I said
"What about prisoners from the Ark?" Lincoln asked
"They'll all be killed... But you don't care about that, do you?" I said to lexa "I do care, Clarke, but I made this choice with my head and not my heart. The duty to protect my people comes first." Lexa said
"Please don't do this." I said
"I'm sorry, Clarke." Lexa said
"Commander, not like this. Let us fight" lincoln said.
"No. The deal is done.You, too. All our people withdraw. Those are the terms." Lexa said
"They'll be slaughtered. Let me help them." Lincoln said
"We will meet again." Lexa said taking lincoln.

Octavia's POV
"We're retreating." Indra said hearing a horn
"That can't be right." I said
"We have to go. Now!" Indra said
" Indra, wait! They're still in there."
"And our commander's out there, under attack for all we know." Indra said
"I don't trust her, not after Tondc, and neither should you." I said
"I gave you a direct order."
"Please. This was the plan. If we're not here with the tone generators when they come out, Reapers will kill..." I sadi
"Plans change." Indra said
"I'm not going anywhere without my brother."
"You are no longer my second."

Wicks pov
"Raven? Raven. Hey. Ugh! My arm. Ow. Hey. I'm just saying, my brace would have held. Come on. Let's get out of here." I said
"Kyle..." raven said
"No. No way. Don't even say it. I'm not going anywhere without you." I said
"What I was gonna say is... Please don't leave me." Raven said
"Not a chance."

Cages POV
"Dad? You were right. She took the deal. You're a hero to your people. We've won." I said
"No, we haven't. Not yet. Peace with the savages isn't enough to make the ground safe for us." Dante said
"I know. The Ark."
"They'll never stop. No parent ever would."
"You're right. 20 minutes ago, we picked up a small group on radar. I already have a team on the way. Looks like we're gonna have more bone marrow. We'll be on level 5 until the turbines are fixed. Come down when you're ready."

Clarke's POV
"Clarke, let's go. We'll come back with reinforcements." mr miller said
"Clarke. Clarke, come on. It's over. I'm sorry." Monroe said
"It can't be over." Clarke said

Octavias POV
A bloody and battered body drops down from one of the chutes.
"Fox." I said seeing the body. I hear someone coming down the tunnels and wield my sword, prepared to defend myself. But the only one who comes running around the corner is Clarke.
"Octavia. You stayed." Clarke said
"Screw you. Of course, I stayed. I know where my loyalties lie." I said
"We have to get in there." Clarke said
" If that was possible, do you think I'd still be out here? Why did Lexa sound the retreat?" I asked
"She made a deal with Mount Weather, freed the Grounders, and now we're on our own." clarke said. Clarke bangs loudly on the metal intake door.
"Stop! They'll know we're here. What about Lincoln? There's no way he would have gone along with a plan like this." I said
"He didn't. They took him." Clarke said. Clarke raises her gun, aiming at the keypad on the door, but I stop her.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked
"I am getting through that door." Clarke said
"And that's your plan? Bellamy's counting on you. Everyone's always counting on you." I said
"Well, what do you want from me?"
"You trusted Lexa. You let a bomb drop on Tondc. You let all those people--"
"I am doing the best I can!"
"Yeah? Well, it's not good enough." I said the door keypad beeps, and Clarke raises her gun again as the door opens Bellamy and giselle emerges.
"Oh, Bellamy." I said hugging Bellamy, and he wraps his arms around me but keeps his gaze focused on Clarke and Giselle hugging Jasper and Monty also come through the door.
"I knew it. You two are too scrawny to drill." I said to Monty and jasper hugs the Other three as well.
"Hey" I said
"It's all right. She's with us." Jasper said talking about Maya
"Where's your army?" Bellamy asked clarke
"Gone just like yours. Say you have a plan." Clarke said
"Not really. We need to talk to Dante. Maya says he's in quarantine." Bellamy said
Jasper rushes forward, hugging. Beeping comes from Maya's oxygen tanks.
"Thirty minutes. And we just changed it. That can't be right. Uh, shh-- um... It's her last tank." Jasper said
"Hey. Uh, we'll find you another one." Clarke said
"All the supplemental oxygen is on level five." Maya said
"Then we have to get you to level five." Jasper said
"Five isn't safe for any of us." Maya said
"We'll take the trash chute again. It will work." Jasper said
"To get in, maybe. Maya's right. Every soldier in this mountain is there. We'll never make it out." Bellamy said
"We can do this. We'll split up." Jasper said
"We have to try" Giselle said
"Okay. You guys go for Dante. We'll help Maya." I said, I unsheathe my sword, walking through the door the group follows, closing the door tightly behind us.

Indras pov
"I'll watch the prisoner. Get some sleep." I said to the grounder watching Lincoln
"How could you do this?" Lincoln asked
"I swore loyalty to this commander."
"She left our allies to be slaughtered. She dishonors us all."
"And your disobedience dishonors you."
"Why are you here, Indra?"
"Because you are also Trikru."
"I can't just let her die." Lincoln said talking about octavia
"Under the terms of the truce, the lands surrounding the mountain are forbidden. If you violate this, Lexa will never take you back. Octavia made her choice. Now you make yours." I walk away from Lincoln, bound to a tree, but leave a knife behind. It is close enough to him that he will able to grab it and cut himself free.
