Chapter 1.
A beautiful horizon.
The sound of the engine turbines had already become an annoyance to Marinette. Her ears kept popping, more and more often. The higher the plane went, the harder it became to un-pop her ears.
Nevertheless, Marinette was lucky enough to get a window seat. She was able to look down at the busy city of Beijing China. People turned to ants, and then specks of dust. By the time the plane was finally at its highest elevation, cars were no more than colored specks and building looked like toys.
Paris seemed like a lifetime away for her. But at least it gave her time to think. Her thoughts went back to her teenage years in Highschool. All her friends, classmates... she missed them. She even surprised herself. She started to miss Chloe and Sabrina, even though they constantly harassed her.
Marinette tucked her long hair behind her ear, thanking the fight attendant for the small pack of salted nuts that always tasted better than the actual food. She put the small tray down and set the napkin she was given and the package of nuts on top of it. The sun had already set in Beijing. But by the time she would be arriving in Paris, the sky would be a beautiful array of yellows, pinks, reds and then eventually, a soft milky blue, dotted with twinkling stars. The same stars she saw right now.
She pulled her sketch book out of the small bag that was stowed under the her chair. Pushing her snack to the side, she flipped open the book and looked through the array of sketches she did on a daily basis.
Pages full of shirts and dresses, skirts of all kinds stared up at her.
She flipped to a clean page and started on a dress, one inspired by the sky. A strapless A-line that would go down to the floor. Jewls and sparkling tule covered the pale silver-ish dress.

Marinette's flight consisted of two things. One, screaming children and two, constant claustrophobia.
By the time she exited the plane she finally took her first breath of clean air after 10 hours. And she was finally home. She walked through the terminal, all the way to her cab. The drive was quick and smooth. Marinette had paid the driver, and even tipped.
By the time she arrived at her new apartment, exhaustion over powered her. It was a good thing most of the furniture she had shipped over was already set up. Most of her decor from her house above the bakery was put inside, plus extra her parents bought for the living room and dining room. She plopped down in the bay window that had cushions in it already. She'd get pillows later.
Marinette stared up at the sky. It was just as she thought. A beautiful horizon. Reds, yellows, pinks, and the smallest line of blue at the bottom where the distant city skyline lay. Her days as a superhero came to mind. The nights where her and Chat Noir would run around under that same sky together. She couldn't help wonder if he was still in Paris.
And if he was... would he recognize her?

The door bell scared Marinette awake. Her apartment complex had irritating buzzers instead of the normal bell. She wasn't expecting guests.
Marinette kicked the white comforter off herself and stood up, putting her hair in a messy bun as she walked to the door. A delivery man stood at her door with a small box. "Delivery for a Ms. Dupain-Cheng?" He asked.
"U-Uh- yes?" She asked. The delivery man handed her the box.
"Sign here please." He held a clip board and handed her a pen as well.
Marinette raised an eyebrow, staring at the package. She then signed for the package in neat cursive. "Have a nice day ma' am." He said and left with the rest of the packages he had to deliver in her apartment complex.
Marinette closed the door and sat on the bay window, small package in her lap. "What did I order..?" She grabbed a knife from the table nearby and sliced the tape open.
