Sometimes life flies right by you. For Marinette, thats exactly what happened. It seemed like the more akumas she fought with her partners the faster time went by. Adulthood was funny like that. If you blink you miss 10 years of your life.
Marinette had been home, back in Paris for a year now. The early Spring weather signaled the anniversary of her arrival back in Paris. Her and Adrien had been together for a year now, also.
Nino and Alya's first child was born who they named Nina. (Huehue~ smol :3)
Marinette found herself dwelling in these thoughts. Now 24, Adrien and Marinette were working together to open up Marinette's own business. They were also moving a condo together, one that would be big enough for the both of them. Adrien would quit working for his dad once Marinette's business was settled. Everything was moving so quickly. Time flies when you are having fun.
Marinette was packing up stuff from her apartment, loading boxes into a moving van. Adrien and Marinette were still just dating, but Marinette found herself hoping that sometime soon they might be more.
Nevertheless, she was happy with where her life was, so was everyone else she knew. Fox and Bee knew each other's identities and grew close like her and Chat. Nathanael and Chloe were dating so that meant less attention he gave to Marinette. And of course, less attention Chloe gave to Adrien.
"I think thats all of it, thank you." Marinette said, giving the movers a friendly smile.
~
"Welcome home, princess." Adrien pulled Marinette into a hug as she climbed out of the moving truck.
"I can't believe this is happening already." Marinette breathed, looking up at their new condo in a suburban neighborhood of Paris. The condos each had two floors and there were two condos per building, separated by walls in the interior and fences on the exterior. They were a pale grey on the outside, square windows and black roof tops.
"I can't either." Adrien chuckled, letting her go.The two of them worked together to unload boxes while the movers put furniture into place, directed by the couple. No longer than half an hour later, boxes sat on every table top and counter space available and larger ones lay scattered amongst the floor. They couldn't even find both of the kwamis, who were both lost somewhere in the maze of boxes.
"Ill start in the kitchen." Marinette called to Adrien, who replied that he would take stuff to the master bedroom and small guest bedroom.
Marinette carefully put all the dishes into cupboards, pots and pans into their own place and all the silverware into a drawer. With the kitchen unpacked she started on the living room, pushing the small sectional couch against the wall and the coffee table in front of it. They brought the tv from Marinette's apartment to their new condominium and it was set against the third wall in the living room.
The new place they shared together was a downgrade from Adrien's penthouse, but he said he didn't care. It got lonely in such a big house. But it was also an upgrade from Marinette's apartment. The condo was about 2,000 square feet with two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms.
When you enter the door you are met with a small tiled area with a bench to take off your shoes. Down the hallway and to the right was the kitchen and across from that was the living room. To the left was the half bath which was just a toilet and sink. Two sets of seven stairs led to the upstairs. On one side there was the master bedroom which was the first door on the left. In the master bedroom was a full bathroom and a walk-in closet. On the first door to the right was the guest bedroom. The second door to the right was the final bathroom.
At the end of the hall was an office space and a small closet where the washing machine and dryer was located. Finally back on the ground floor, connecting to the kitchen was an outdoor fenced in area. The yard wasn't to big, only about 100 feet wide or so. But it worked, and both were happy with it.
Adrien trotted down the stairs and snaked an arm around Marinette's waist, gently pulling her close. She leaned into his touch, closing her eyes softly.
"Remember a while ago you were talking about "our future"? You said you wanted to spend it with me." Marinette said.
"Hmm? Where's this coming from?" Adrien asked, looking down at the short bluenette.
"This is the start of "our future." There's no more imagining what it will look like. We are living it now." Her eyes opened as she looked up at the flustered blonde.Despite his pink cheeks, he smiled and lifted her up with ease, holding her from under her butt as she crossed her ankles gently behind his back and laced her fingers together behind his neck.
"Well said, princess." He whispered. Marinette leaned her head close, pressing her forehead against his gently.~
Marinette yawned as she flopped down on the bed, face-planting into the comforter. Adrien chuckled and sat down next to her. They had spent the entire afternoon unpacking together, throwing foam packing peanuts at each-other and popping all the bubble wrap they could. The sun had set and the stars twinkled in the window.
"Im gonna go grocery shopping tomorrow." Marinette announced as she rolled over onto her stomach. "What do you have planned?" She asked.
Adrien froze. He couldn't really explain his plans to her. He was going to meet Marinette's parents at a restaurant. He had something to discuss with them. In fact, it kinda made him nervous.
Tom and Sabine had moved back to Paris, retired and now there to help out whenever the young couple needed opinions or when Marinette needed help with her business.
Adrien quickly thought of a small fib. "Im going into the office tomorrow to start wrapping things up."
"Have you discussed things with your dad yet?" Marinette asked. Adrien bit his tongue and shook his head.
"N-no..." Adrien still needed to discuss with his dad the fact that he would be quitting the company. But with the move and other plans he had going on he always put it off. Marinette sighed and sat up."When are you going to?" The look in her eyes told Adrien she was worried.
"I will soon, don't worry about it princess." He smiled and kissed her forehead. Marinette forced a smile, but he knew she was still concerned, and he knew she had every right to be. Talking to his father about quitting the company wouldn't be easy, no doubt."Promise me you won't put it off to far..." her voice was just above a whisper. Adrien put his hand on the top of her head.
"I'll make you a deal, as soon as we are settled I will talk to my father, okay?"Marinette thought about this for a moment, and then nodded. Her mood turned around for the best.
"Okay, for now lets not worry about it." She pulled the comforter back and slipped her legs under, already dressed in an oversized sweater and pajama shorts. "Lets just take care of everything in the now.""Good thinking, my lady." He smiled, turning off the bedside lamp. He wrapped his arms around the small bluenette and held her close, feeling his heart swell when she snuggled closer.
