Chloe's statement sent a wave of silence throughout the room. Adrien's attention turned to his own kwami, Plagg. Adrien chose to the be first to break the silence.
"S-she's right..." he started, "Master Fu isn't here anymore... there isn't anyone to guard the miraculous. They aren't safe on their own." He kept his voice low and quiet, as if someone might be spying on their conversation.

The mood in the room turned downcast at the mention of Master Fu.

"Trixx, Pollen, Plagg and Tikki.. what are we meant to do?" Nathanael asked, speaking for the first time since the two had arrived suddenly at the condo.

The four flying creatures, who had been silent since coming into view, all looked down at the floor underneath them.

"Plagg..?" Adrien asked quietly, tempted to reach out to his companion. But Plagg didn't respond.

"Guys?" Nathanael asked again, urging for at least one of the kwamis to say something, anything.

Tikki looked up. Her bright blue eyes were downcast, clouded with tears.
"There isn't anything we can do. The miraculous aren't safe, you're right." She sniffed. Plagg put a gentle paw on her shoulder. Adrien heard him whispering "there there"

This wasn't like Plagg, to be so sympathetic. But Adrien realized that this affected all of them. Kwamis, and the Miraculous holders.

Tikki spoke again. "After our time with all our previous miraculous holders were up, we were taken back to the current guardian. In this case, it would've been Master Fu. We would be safe-guarded until we were called for again, and put into the care of those like you four." The little ladybug kwami did her best to explain without breaking down. But the tears still slid down her cheeks. Plagg gently rubbed the top of her back with his paw, urging her to continue.

Tikki turned away from the group, taking a moment to herself to calm down. Adrien felt Marinette's muscles stiffen. He knew she wanted to help her kwami as much as he wanted to help his.

Tikki turned back around. "We have no say whether or not you take us back to Master Fu's house or not. That is for you four to decide." She said quietly. The air in the room seemed to move again. It was up to them?

Marinette felt as though she could breathe again. They could keep the kwamis. They could take care of them till a possible new guardian arrived. That was okay right?

Chloe must've had the same idea. "Well there is no way we are leaving you four to wait to be reactivated again. I say we keep them in our care." Chloe crossed her arms. Pollen, the bee kwami gasped. She flew over to the blonde and nuzzled her cheek happily.

Pollen then looked at the rest of the group.

Marinette looked at her kwami, Tikki. "I already lost Tikki once. I don't want it to happen again. There are still some things we need to do first." She said, watching Tikki's expression as she spoke. Tikki immediately flew over and hugged Marinette's cheek.

Plagg nodded. "Me too. The kid and I have a long way to go still before we can part ways." He crossed his arms over his chest. His fangs poked out of his mouth as he smirked at Adrien, who chuckled under his breath.

"Its settled then." Nathanael said, rubbing his kwami's head. "Looks like we get a little more time together, Trixx."

The fox kwami nodded happily.

Nathanael and Chloe left with the decision in place. The kwamis would stay. For now, at least. Tikki and Plagg sat in a nearby window-sill. Their quiet chatter, from the looks of it, seemed friendly. Their expressions weren't tense like the mood in the room beforehand.
